Found as a stray kitten three years ago, Milo, right now, is not too fond of the word vet. Long story short, he has reason to feel that way after initially having to be brought to an emergency vet for a urinary blockage. No sooner treated for this condition than poor Milo developed pancreatitis. It took a three day vet stay with expert, first class, costly vet treatment to save his life. Once the trauma of Milo’s experience wears off, he’ll eventually realize it was all to make his life whole again, thanks to a devoted mom who treasures his presence in her life and has been there for him when it counts.

Six year old Rory is so lucky to have such a special mom in her life, since adopted from a shelter four years ago. Her mom describes Rory as, “not only my service dog, but a part of my heart.” This statement says so much about the important role Rory and her mom play in each other’s life, a devoted duo, joined at the hip, where both lives revolve around each other’s presence. A serious separation occurred when a cyst was found on Rory’s hip. Surgery was successful, helping this special twosome enjoy the pleasure of each other’s company once again.

Two year old Bailey came into her mom’s life just three weeks ago as a rescue and, no sooner settled in, required an urgent vet visit. The culprit was fleas and ear mites. This past month of hot, humid weather has been quite a recipe for their development and nuisance, and Bailey’s new mom was determined to get the best of them. After an overall checkup and treatment for parasites, sweet Bailey is now comfortably settling in with a mom who will be there to give Bailey first dibs on all that she needs in life. Friends is so thrilled at the huge turnaround in both Bailey’s life and future.

Six year old Luna’s world made a complete turnaround the day she was rescued three years ago. It’s become more than that, like the moon, Luna has made her mom’s dark times brighter, too, with their time together enriching both their lives. Their daily routine required a detour a while ago, when Luna began having challenges eating. A very important vet visit was made, where much to her mom’s surprise, Luna needed 15 extractions. Surgery was successful, and both now face a brighter, healthier and happier future together.

Three year old Buddy is very familiar with vet visits since coming into his mom’s life as a stray two years ago. He’s had a condition called feline stomatitis, where a cat’s immune system overreacts to the bacteria on its teeth. In the short time with his mom, Buddy’s had several vet visits and surgeries because of challenges eating due to inflammation of his gums. This most recent visit for dental issues was Buddy’s last, as he required all 18 of his remaining teeth to be extracted. All is not lost for this precious guy, as his mom’s allegiance and commitment, when she opened her heart and home to him, was to be there for her Buddy no matter what.

Neasa and her mom have so much to smile about since her rescue as a pup eight years ago. Her name Neasa, gives testimony to her nature, as it means “strong woman” in Gaelic, and this bond has helped her mom get through life’s ups and downs. Inseparable companions over the years, both endured a very harrowing experience after Neasa swallowed some dental floss. An emergency vet visit found she would require costly surgery the next day. An overnight miracle occurred when the next day, pre-surgery x-rays showed the dental floss had passed! Oh, what a relief for this very special duo.

She's no hip-hopper, but Jazzy has had the beat of her mom's heart in her life since her adoption as a kitten 10 years ago. A great distraction to life’s challenges, she’s become the center of her mom’s world. Jazzy’s mom had a challenge a while ago involving a personal medical condition, where she couldn’t be there to meet Jazzy’s grooming needs. An important vet visit was made to be there for Jazzy when her caring mom couldn’t. After a good shave, exam and grooming, Jazzy’s mats were left at the vets, and both she and her relieved mom feel so much better because of it.

Brenna came into her mom’s life as a pup nine years ago, and her mom now refers to Brenna as “the love of my life.” Spending very special moments together over the years, they have truly become a devoted duo. Sometimes taxing things can happen all at once. A car in need of major repairs, as well as a tumor on Brenna’s ear needing immediate attention, put Brenna’s mom in a very stressful place. Brenna’s issue was a priority, and her mom’s determination helped to make this important surgery a reality. Mom reports, “Tumor benign, Brenna healing well.” Life is good!
