The Dogs’ Spot specializes in innovative, reward-based educational and recreational programs that are Friendly, Effective, and Fun! Dogs are taught to make good choices by showing their human companions how to focus on reinforcing desirable behaviors, rather than inadvertently reinforcing undesirable ones. Small classes and private consultations are offered in puppy socialization, family manners,

dog agility, flyball, therapy dog preparation, Canine Good Citizen training and testing, and preparing your pets for the arrival of your new baby. The Dogs’ Spot, located in North Kansas City, MO, is a 15,000 square foot indoor facility that is fully air-conditioned and heated for year around comfort, and fully matted with Great Mats Dog Agility matting. We have to extend HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to our very own Lisa Rickards and Java for earning a Guinness World Record!

On March 21, 2026, after a lot of hard prep work, Java attempted the title: Most clothes pegs put on a washing line by a dog in one minute, and it has just been officially verified!

We have a last-minute opening in our Reactive Dog I class starting tonight at 8:00 pm - get started today to make walks easier and less stressful for you both!

In this class you'll learn your dog's motivation(s) behind their behavior, calming techniques, confidence building, strategies to get their head back in the game after a reaction, and exercises to modify your dog's behavior. Since our goal is to teach you and your dog new skills and change how they feel about their trigger(s), we will never provoke your dog into reaction in an attempt to teach them not to.
