Another glorious Saturday at the Des Moines' Downtown Farmers' Market but our day doesn’t stop when the market is over.

With as many visitors as we get searching for snax, the minute we get back to KC the ball crawl gets thoroughly cleaned, disinfected, and sprayed with a veterinary-grade sanitizer.

Just a normal Wednesday night here. 30lbs of duck heart to trim and turn into Taurine Teenies, Kitteenies, and those always sold out Magic Teenies for this weekend.

Trim gets frozen and dropped off at KC Can Compost so when we say nothing goes to waste, we mean it!

Market season is always crazy, but May is chaos.

Yesterday was a first for me though. Saturday, 0200. Wake up, finish loading the car, make the dark drive north. Roll up to my spot. There’s another vendor setting up. Oh. Weird. Okay, maybe we’re accidentally double booked.

Hit the info booth.

Y’all. I wasn’t even on the schedule. I drove 3 hours one way, not checking once, just on autopilot. Thank dawg they found me an open spot near our usual place.

Here’s a giant thank you to the Des Moines' Downtown Farmers' Market for accommodating my airhead self and to all of you who stopped by! Will be back in 414 next weekend. For real. 🤣
