Leptospirosis is on the rise because of unfortunate circumstances in our area. However, if your dog gets their vaccinations at our clinic, your pet is protected. If you have not had your dogs vaccinated recently, consider updating, especially if you go to dog parks or high congested areas.

Leptospirosis, a bacterial infection that can cause kidney failure, is becoming an epidemic for dogs on the west side of LA County.

Just a quick FYI … veterinary hospitals are considered health care facilities so a mask will be required to enter our lobby. For the emotional, physical, and mental well-being of my staff, please continue to call from the parking lot and let us know if you are here for an appointment or to pick up food, prescriptions, or medical supplies. We will be continuing to operate in this manner until the end of June and then OSHA as well as the CVMA will give us new guidelines on how we can operate.

Please bear in mind that while you may have been safe at home for the past 17 months, our profession never got a break and continued to operate under some very extenuating circumstances. The veterinary industry is experiencing a crisis never before seen. We appreciate your patience and hope that we can resume normal business activity soon AND when everyone on staff feels safe to do so.

Just a reminder that this will be the last week of operating hours for the 2020 year. We will be closing beginning Friday December 18 at 5 pm. We will be back in the office Monday, January 4 at 8 am.

Please check all your prescriptions, medical supplies, and food and make sure you have enough to last you through the holiday break.

2020 has definitely been a very challenging year. We hope you all stay safe and we will see you in 2021 and hope that things start looking a little brighter.
