We also offer a summer horse show series and clinics throughout the year. Open to the public by appointment only.

What a fabulous Sunday out eventing at today!

Cat and Blaze just keep improving their dressage, scoring a 28 (!!) today (if you know Blaze and her disdain for dressage, you know how impressive this is 😂). They followed that up with a clear show jumping and positive cross country round to finish in 6th place.

Avocet piloted Toad to a 4th place finish, with an obedient dressage test, clear show jumping, and clear cross county round. I am SO impressed with how Toad is handling his first ever eventing season thus far.

Great riding ladies!!

We have had a very busy May of horse showing, and a lot of our riders have kicked the 2025 season off with a bang!

May 11th we headed to the Connecticut Dressage & Combined Training Association (CDCTA) show at Magnolia Equestrian Center. Both Kayla and Chantel rode in their first dressage show in years, with Kayla winning the Training 1 on Pal and Chantel placing 1st in Intro C and 2nd in Training 1 on her mare, Lacey. Emma rode Pal in the Beginner Novice combined test, riding a very nice dressage and a tactfully ridden show jump round. A huge shoutout to these three ladies as well for their help with volunteering! From adjusting dressage arenas, to jump crew, to show breakdown, they were all a huge help and did it all with a smile on their faces.

The following weekend we headed to Treasure Hill Farm for their first three phase of the year. We love attending these shows, they are always so well run and such a fun, encouraging environment! Charlotte rode Toad around his first horse trial ever, giving him three confidence building phases. Emmy rode in her first horse trial ever, and took home the win in her division as the only rider to finish on her dressage score. Cat rode Blaze around the Beginner Novice, posting a personal best dressage score.

Lastly, we headed back to THF this past weekend for their dressage show. Michelle piloted Pal to a win in the Intro C and 2nd place in Intro B with some great scores in her very first dressage show ever! Truman also made the trip, making his First Level debut and putting in two very nice, workmanlike tests.

We have this weekend off before we hit the ground running again at our June events! As always, a giant thank you to everyone who makes this all possible: dedicated riders, supportive parents, and an awesome crew of helpers that keep things running smoothly at home ❤️

We had the best time at Mystic yesterday and had the show day that every trainer dreams of: perfect weather, well behaved horses, and great riding from everyone!
eventing started the day off by putting in two lovely tests with her horse, Bear, taking the win in both classes. Ally has put in so much hard work over the winter and it is absolutely paying off!

Emmy did her first eventing type show ever, putting in two great phases with Blaze and taking the win in the Starter division
m.eventing piloted Toad very well to finish 2nd in the Starter division for Toad’s first ever show of this kind

Some sad news to share for those of you who remember, Mercedes, one of our past lesson horses; she crossed the rainbow bridge today at the age of 30 🌈

Mercedes taught many of our riders to find their love of running and jumping and how to ride a more sensitive horse

When her arthritis became too much for her to continue being a riding horse, she went to retire with one of our clients at her farm. For the last 3 years, Mercedes has been living the best life a horse could ask for and we are incredibly grateful to Andrea for taking such good care of her!

JC Eventing in North Haven, CT has 2-3 stalls coming available as of March 1st due to the sale of a couple of horses.

We pride ourselves on providing expert care in a professional setting while still maintaining a quiet, low key environment and letting horses be horses.

Full board includes:

🐴 Large, oversized 15’x10’ stall, with its own light and outlet cleaned daily and well bedded with dust free pine shavings. Owner provided fans and heated water buckets run at no extra charge in the appropriate months. Water buckets scrubbed daily

🐴 Huge private tack locker and private blanket rack for each stall

🐴 Daily, full day turnout in large paddocks with 24/7 turnout option in the warmer months in small groups so horses can play and socialize

🐴 High quality NY hay fed regularly throughout the day to keep horses eating consistently. Our hay is tested and fed by weight, so we can ensure each horse is getting exactly what they need

🐴 Customized nutrition plans for each horse with grain fed up to 3x per day as needed. Barn owner has formal equine nutrition education from both the University of Edinburgh and University of Guelph

🐴 Full blanketing services included in full board, with up to two blanket changes per day. Fly mask and fly spray application included during fly season

🐴 Many places to ride and enjoy your horse: we have a large 100’x200’ sand outdoor arena, a bright and airy 70’x100’ indoor arena with sand/fiber mix footing, a xc field, a 1/2 mile grass track, and plenty of xc fences from Starter to Training including banks and ditches

🐴 Trainer on site specializing in eventing, dressage, and the restarting and training of OTTBs. Lessons and competition opportunities are readily available, but not required
🐴 Multiple schooling show and clinic opportunities offered to our boarders throughout the year

Today was full of smiles and lots of blue ribbons for the JC Eventing crew!

Marissa piloted Pal to three blues and a champion ribbon in the walk/trot hunter pleasure

Michelle competed in her first ever off property jumping classes and knocked it out of the park, taking a clean sweep of both fences and the flat in a big 18” hunter division

Emmy rode Blaze to multiple blue ribbons and division champion of the 2ft jumpers. Very impressive considering this is a new partnership!

Cat piloted Blaze around the 2’6” jumpers, bringing home three blues and champion after three lovely clear rounds

Avocet wins the sportsmanship award of the day for still sporting a smile despite opting to scratch when Pal wasn’t feeling 100% in the warmup. Standing outside in the cold all day at a horse show, watching everybody else ride and have fun, and then not getting to ride in your classes is a huge bummer, but that did not stop her from putting the horse first and supporting her fellow barnmates!

Huge thank you to everybody that helped with turnout and chores this morning and then turnin when we got home. Having such a great team of supportive people is so so appreciated and makes great days like these possible!

A very Happy New Year from JC Eventing! Grateful for such good boarders, students, helpers, and friends. We had a fun 2024: lots of outings to shows, we hosted some fun events and clinics, and we’re looking forward to a very exciting 2025!
