Farm School is back in session!!
Today we welcomed another fantastic group of students ready to explore and learn!
Thursday classes will focus on Florida history this year. Our mornings will be spent in learning squads. Afternoons are spent in interest-led workshops. Students get to choose a new workshop every six weeks. The workshops they have to choose from this session are:
Book club
Lego
Magic tricks
Scrapbooking
Theater props
Watercolor painting

Happy First Day of Farm School! We are so excited to welcome these happy faces and kick off a new school year! Wednesday classes will focus on Florida ecology this year. Students can look forward to lots of creative projects, collaborative learning, interest-led workshops, and as always, time in nature and with the farm animals.

Day 1 was spent getting to know one another, touring all of the learning spaces on the farm and in the woods, and going over procedures and safety. The workshops students got to choose from this session are:
Watercolor
Digital marketing and safety
Farm animal care
Crochet
Dungeons & Dragons
Broadway on the Farm (Lion King)
Show and Tell

Meet the Teachers of Farm School at Shaker's Acres!
Farm School starts this week, and we are so excited to see everyone On the Farm!
Interested in joining us? We had some last minute cancellations for Thursdays... reach out and let me know if you'd like to join our Farm School community this year!

❤️Our Farm School Teacher Team:

Ms. Emily is a homeschooling mom of two and former elementary school counselor. Her favorite hobbies are hiking and wildlife photography.

Ms. Rebecca is a mother of 6 and has been homeschooling her children since 202. She enjoys reading, crafting, and spending time with her family.

Ms. Kristin has been homeschooling her three children since 2014. She is the resident "farm nurse". She enjoys crocheting and traveling with her family, especially to Disney. She also runs Bridge to Nature, offering nature homeschool classes in Collier County.

Ms. Kelsey has been homeschooling her three children for six years, following a career in elementary education. She has a deep love of nature and is happiest adventuring the waterways or soaking up a campsite with her family.

Ms. Torie is the owner of Shaker's Acres and a homeschooling mom of 3 girls. She enjoys anything out in nature, is learning to ride to keep up with her girls, and has loved sharing the Farm with the homeschool community for the last 10 years!

Hey friends... Sadie, the puppy of a Farm School family and our Trevor's sister, is still missing after the 4th of July fireworks, out by Cook Brown road. Lots of searching, including thermal drones, have shown no sign of her. Maybe someone picked her up, and didn't realize she has a loving family looking for her? She could be pretty far from home if that's the case.

Please keep an eye and ear open for this sweet girl, she is so missed.

Summer Edition is a hands-on wilderness skills experience where campers learn how to build shelters, tie essential knots, construct simple bushcraft furniture, understand fire safety, cook over open flame, and craft tools using natural materials.

That's a wrap on Wilderness Explorers! These pictures say it all!! Today we learned about "leave no trace" and returned the forest to it's natural state. We played camouflage capture the flag and braved the "gator" swamp. We've built friendships and survived the wilderness.

These pictures say it all!! Wilderness Explorers wrapped up a fun filled week with an awesome game of camouflage capture the flag. We learned about "Leave no trace" and left the forest in its natural state. We braved the "gator swamp" and completed one last team challenge. We built friendships and made memories. Thanks for a fabulous week!
