During the early 1970s Dennis McKenna developed a technique for cultivating psilocybin mushrooms and shared it with Terence McKenna. The brothers published what they had learned in a book entitled Psilocybin - Magic Mushroom Grower's Guide. The McKennas were the first to come up with a reliable method for cultivating psilocybin mushrooms at home. The fake names were made up by Terence. O. N. Oeric derived from ONEIRIC which means "having to do with dreams" O.T. Oss is derived from OTIOSE which means "far removed/far away". Both would combine into "dreams from far away" inspired by the idea that Mushrooms are extraterrestrial messangers .
