Celsa could use some good vibes.

Yesterday morning she was very quiet at morning feed. Everyone else was enjoying the cool morning and she was hunched in the corner. We are also in the process of moving so I put her in a stacker to monitor her output. When we got home she only pooped five pellets all day. 😕 I went and picked up some straw for her this morning before leaving to work on our new house again. Fingers crossed there is some improvement when I get home.

The LARR show was a good one, but a little hectic with the venue change. We made the most of it and did what we could to stay dry.

I had six Cremes entered in both shows and the Rare Breed Specialty. The Jr bucks fell mid pack, the older does held their own, but my Jr does really made me proud. Celsa came away with two Best of Breed and beat her mom in Show B. It was a close call.

I’m so thankful for Jones Rabbits and Homestead and Anna Giftos for helping get rabbits on and off the table. Today would have been impossible without you two.

Also introducing Toulouse 🧡 he’s a jr buck from Jones Rabbits. We can’t wait to put him to work this winter and get a little bit of diversity in the rabbitry.

I processed the last of my growouts last week as an urban farm! 🎉 We have a big move coming up and I can’t wait to share my new setup with everyone.

And yes, I’m wearing gloves to process. I was “diagnosed” with Rabbit Fever (Tularemia) in June. I never went to get my recheck titers done to officially confirm diagnosis 😅 but I would love to NEVER experience that again. So here’s to wearing gloves 🍻

Introducing Frankenstein 🧡

Thank you so much to Kendall at Fort Worth's Finest Rabbitry for the opportunity to purchase this buck! I am so excited for him to grow up a bit more and get to work as our herd buck.

A huge thank you to Melissa with Six Feathers Farm Transport. She made it possible to get Frank all the way from Texas up here to Michigan. Melissa is so through but makes things easy and simple for both seller and buyer. I cannot say enough good things about her or her transport operation.

There’s some nostalgia and a big feeling that Frank is meant to be here. Frank’s ear tatto is ‘Bob’, which was my nickname on my high school equestrian team. There was 5 different Katie’s and Kaitlyn’s so I was dubbed Bob to help tell who was being talked to. When picking Frank up from transport his hole number in the van was 70. 70 was my assigned back number for my 4 years on the equestrian team. Coincidence?
