Foster Fun Photo!
Sebastian and his siblings—one brother and two sisters—are getting spayed and neutered today. They'll be ready for adoption in just a few days! All of our animals spend their time in loving foster homes, where they learn essential social skills and prepare for their forever families.
Big thanks to foster mom Melina for this adorable snapshot of the little guy!

Huge thanks to Hanson Meekins Animal Hospital for always going above and beyond for the animals of Coos County! Dr. Dan, Dr. Roxy, Dr. Megan, Maggie, and the entire team — you are truly amazing. This week, they provided exams for 12 of the abandoned cats we took in, along with 10 other new intakes.

The good news: all of the cats are adoptable!
The not-so-good news: they’re all battling fleas, ear mites, lice, and upper respiratory infections. Thankfully, everything is treatable — it’ll just take a few weeks before they’re spayed/neutered, healthy and ready for adoption.

Our work wouldn't be possible without the incredible support of our community. A huge thank you to NoBe for raising over $5,000 during May’s Pints for Pups fundraiser! We’re especially grateful to Grocery Outlet who was a major sponsor and the many other local businesses who played a key role in making this event a success. The funds raised will directly benefit Friends of Coos County Animals (FOCCAS) and Animal Shelter Partners.

Thank you Al Pearce and Jukebox Sirens for the benefit concert last Saturday evening! Great music and we appreciate your generosity!

Last month, we poured over 2,000 pints for a great cause—and thanks to the incredible generosity of the community, we raised over $5,000 for our furry friends! 🐾

A huge thank you to North Bend Grocery Outlet for matching our contribution, and to Walt’s Pourhouse, National Real Estate, Ziply, and Lucrative Construction for their generous donations.

You can bet we’ll be doing this again next year—and even bigger! šŸ™ŒšŸ¶šŸ»

Update: The situation is a bit worse than we thought as numerous cats were left in trailers with no food or water and were deceased. We got 8 cats today with more coming tomorrow. The mama and 3 babies appear healthy, the others are very malnourished. We are reaching out to our partner rescues and we will be contacting those of you who signed up to foster... thank you ....Today, we were alerted to a situation involving 20 abandoned cats and kittens. While the abandoned horses from the same case have already been rescued, these cats are still in urgent need of help.

We are currently at full capacity and have a waiting list, but when animals are in immediate danger—as these cats are—we do everything we can to prioritize them.

If you're on our waiting list, please know that we truly appreciate your patience and understanding. We're doing our best under very difficult circumstances.

Right now, we urgently need foster homes. Even if you can foster just this once, it will make a huge difference.
Please consider helping—sign up to foster on our website.

Thank you for your compassion and support. sign up at https://friendsofcooscountyanimals.org/

About Us

FOCCAS has been in operation since July 2005 and in that time we have found homes for more than 1,503 dogs and 2,298 cats. Total adoptions 3,801. In addition, we have helped fund the spay/neuter of over 1200 dogs and 3600 cats in the local community. (as of 12/31/2018)

We work completely by volunteers which allows us to put more money towards helping the animals. All pets are in experienced foster homes and we have an adoption event every Saturday at Pony Village Mall from 10-4pm.

Dog adoptions start at $150, (higher in certain circumstances/puppies) and $75 for cats/kittens. This fee includes vaccinations, worming, flea control, spay/neuter, microchip, and possibly other medical services if required. All dogs will receive a Coos County dog license.

If you have any questions about our services, or if you have an animal that you need to re-home, please email us at [email protected] with questions or information on your pet. And/Or.. If you need help with spaying/neutering your pet, please leave us a message at 541-269-1989 with information about breed, age, weight, name, your address and phone number. If we have any questions we can call you back. The voice mail will be returned by a volunteer. The phone number will be blocked because it is her private number. Please have your phone available to accept blocked calls and have your voice mail set up incase the volunteer needs to leave a message.
