Happy first birthday to Emilio! 6/14! Our shy little Emilio estevez is growing up! Emilio came in at around 6 months and went into foster care for a little bit. Emilio’s sisters were adopted out but Emilio has stayed in the cottage since! Despite him being a little timid Emilio enjoys playing, treats, and butt rubs. Emilio is a great buddy for a cat and would do best going home to a buddy or with a buddy. He may take time to warm up but he’s worth it even though he might have that scared look even after gaining his trust! Please note that we will be closed this Sunday 6/14 for visitors due to staff being at an event!

We’re a little late to making a happy pride post but happy pride!! We have been packed with kittens and a bit busy but to those who celebrate please enjoy your month! The adoptable cats and kittens of kitty cottage wanted to show their rainbow colors to all so we had a photoshoot! All of the cats and kittens are adoptable in this post. Well except the stuffed animal…that’s Fangs (the big tuxedo) buddy and they’re a bonded pair obviously! We will be celebrating at pride on passyunk this Sunday 6/14 so we will be closed for that day. We will have some foster kittens with us so please feel free to stop by and show your support during the event!

Thank you to everyone who wants to make us adoption blankets! Many have asked for pictures as reference so we wanted to make a post with the no see blanket (picture 1) and the crochet blanket (picture 2). We have reached out to the organization comfort for critters but they are currently not taking new shelters currently. If you made some blankets and would like to drop them off we are open wed-fri from 12-4 and sat-sun from 12-2. Our address is 750 Forrest ave, Norristown pa 19401. We also have a donation box located by the back door. Thank you again to those who are making the blankets we are happy that this can be a fun project for many!

Calling all knitters and crocheters! We are in need of adoption blankets, if you have left over string that you don’t know what to do with why not make a blanket? The blankets are usually 2’x2’ or big enough to cover the bottom of a carrier! We have adopters pick out one or two adoption blankets when they take a kitty home. The more variations the better! Our kittens want to give a heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated kitten food! We fear that if we had more boxes in the pictures the kittens would try to do back flips off them during the photoshoot but trust that our kitten food shelf is stocked up! This kitten season has been non stop between orphaned kittens or mommas we have been doing our best to help as many as we can! Our amazing fosters have been working endlessly to ensure the kittens coming into the shelter are the best of the best! If you’re interested in fostering please look at our website for more information and our foster application! As much as the world loves a cute kitten we urge the community to spay and neuter their pets and ensure the cats that cross kitty cottage’s path are spayed and neutered regardless of being adoptable or not! We have a resource spreadsheet on our website that lists low cost vet clinics that also provide low cost spays and neuters along with TNR organizations please check the spreadsheet for the resources!
