We don’t like spooky horses at Golden Horse Ranch… 👻🐴 But let’s be honest, it’s not the ghosts that scare them. It’s the hose they’ve walked past 140 times… because apparently, the 141st time is absolutely terrifying.

Happy Halloween!

A big thanks to Caroline Miller for allowing me to run Roxie in the top hand this year. She had some awesome runs and put down some solid scores. This mare loves her job and it shows.

We had a great time at the KRHA John Gammon 2 & 3 Year Old Challenge over the weekend! Sometimes we don’t place where we hope to, and that’s just part of horse showing. But I couldn’t have asked for better rides from these two horses, and that’s what matters most! Proud of the progress they’re making and excited for what’s ahead.

Show Results:

Nick Golden & Continental DS Floki - 8th

3 YO Open

Some horses come into your program and leave a bigger impact than you ever could have imagined. Pep Classic has been one of those horses for me. With the Midwest Classic Top Hand competition behind us, Classic is officially retired from the show pen with me. We might not have caught in the roping, but we had some pretty awesome runs, and I couldn't be more proud of this horse. It's hard to put into words just how much Classic has meant to me and my program. As I've grown as a trainer, he's been right there growing with me. He's been through the new methods, the trial and error, the changes, the shows, and all the times I was just trying to figure things out. He's taught me just as much as I've taught him, and I truly believe my program wouldn't be what it is today without him.
It's easy to look back at the accomplishments, but what means the most to me is everything that happened between them. The long days, the lessons learned, the little victories, and the trust we built along the way. I also want to give a huge thank you to Chelsea Nowak for trusting me with Classic and believing in me throughout this journey. Having someone put that kind of faith in you, especially while you're growing and figuring things out, means more than I can express. I'm incredibly proud of the horse he has become and grateful for everything he's helped me become along the way.

Classic’s show career may be over with me, but what this horse has given me will stay with me forever.

Thank you for everything, Classic. ❤️

And just like that, another circuit season is in the books for most of our Golden Horse Ranch crew! While we still have a couple more shows on the calendar, the majority of our group has officially wrapped up their 2026 show season, and we couldn't be prouder of them. From the early mornings and long weekends to the hard work put in at home, it's been incredible watching these horses and riders grow throughout the year. The ribbons and placings are always exciting, but the progress, determination, and friendships made along the way mean even more. Every single member of this crew has something to be proud of, and we're so grateful to be part of their journey.

Here's to an incredible 2026 circuit season and everything still to come!
