🥵 Oklahoma is turning up the heat today! 🌡️

With temperatures climbing into the triple digits and heat index values expected to reach 105–115°, today is one of the hottest days we’ve seen this summer. Please take extra precautions to keep your furry family members safe.

🐾 Pet Heat Safety Tips:
💧 Keep fresh, cool water available at all times.
🏡 Bring pets indoors or provide plenty of shade and airflow.
🚶 Walk dogs early in the morning or after the sun goes down.
🔥 Test the pavement with the back of your hand for 7 seconds, if it’s too hot for you, it’s too hot for their paws.
🚗 Never leave pets in a parked vehicle, even for “just a minute.”
😓 Watch for signs of heatstroke:
• Excessive panting
• Drooling
• Bright red gums
• Weakness or stumbling
• Vomiting or collapse

🚨 Heatstroke is an emergency. If your pet is showing signs of overheating, move them to a cool area, offer small amounts of water, and seek veterinary care immediately.
