I apologize for being MIA for the past while; there have been many going-ons at Leckgo's Lair. Some good, some heartbreaking. 💔
We lost the lovely Jahiera last week due to complications from heart disease. We took her to the vet and they discovered she had a heart murmur. Due to her young age and otherwise great health, the vet believes it was most likely congenital.
The vet and I also believe that since she was trying to lay eggs with the heart issue, she wound up getting egg bound (she got one out, infertile) and all of that combined was too much for her little body and she passed overnight two days after being seen.
In retrospect, it is good that the egg she did lay was infertile as heart disease tends to be hereditary. I spoke with her breeder and thankfully there have not been any other issues with her line. It's almost impossible to predict such an issue, so it is no one's fault; poor Jahiera just got dealt a poor hand.
I am comforted by the fact she led such a happy healthy life up until about 2 weeks before the end. She didn't suffer long and cannot suffer anymore. 💔🦎🥺

The adorable 24A-2 and 24A-3 went off to their forever home and arrived today ✈️🏡

I'll miss these two, but I'm excited that they went to such a lovely forever home.

Meet Inarius and Lilith, our new species here at Leckgo's Lair! 😊🦎

They are Diablo Morph Tokay geckos, an unrelated pair. Still young, I'm hoping to tame them down before their bites start to hurt! 😂
