Applications for the 2026 Summer Internship are due December 31, 2025. The internship season runs May through mid-October, with exact dates flexible based on college schedules.
This program offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience across the ranch, cattle, and equine divisions of the Four Sixes Ranch. Interns assist in the final stages of breeding season through July 1, participate in the daily care and preparation of sale horses, and help with halter-breaking weanlings.
Interns also shadow the resident veterinarians and staff, assisting with medical treatments, surgeries, and procedures, while working alongside the ranch farriers with trimming and shoeing. Throughout the season, students gain valuable insight into managing a large-scale horse and cattle operation while building the skills and experience needed for a future in the livestock and equine industries.
