Never a dull moment around our place. Got one of the mares that are close to foaling into the barn tonight and as I was standing up in the yard visiting with Annie and Skylar, and Sioux came walking, very awkwardly across the pasture. Went down to check on her and she either rolled into or got crabbed into the fence, I assume, and worked herself over pretty good. Rosie McCullick Johnson and I loaded her up and off to the vet. Thanks to Dr. Ellen, Lisbon Veterinary Service for taking care of her. Cleaned up, stitched up, what she could, lots of antibiotics and wrapped up. We will see how things look on Tuesday and continue with a treatment plan from there.Progress pics to come

Another baby to add to the list, Shay, the queen of a big fancy single baby ....every year 🙄 had a surprise doeling this morning. We knew she was bred. But showed no signs of being ready to pop. Came out for chores to find this big girl, she is by old Roscoe as well. 🥰

Today marks day one of babies at the K/J. We have 6 Nubian does expecting kids this year. Been anxiously waiting to see what the young buck "Bobby Bouche" will produce. Tonight, the first set of twins arrived. Black tri spotted buckling and brown tri doeling from mama "Yacko".
