Nokomis, Saturday, May 9th, 9 am
49 birds. One day. Full-circle learning.
There’s something different about learning where your food comes from…
Not watching — doing.
We’re opening up Lightfoot Farms for a hands-on Chicken Processing Day, where families step into real, practical skills most people have lost.
This is a guided, start-to-finish experience where we move together through each station — learning how to process a chicken with clarity, respect, and purpose. Experiences like this are often taught in small farm classes focused on humane harvesting and full-process education
This is where:
🌾 Kids understand food at a whole new level
🛠 Families build real self-sufficiency together
💪 Confidence is built with your own two hands
It’s honest.
It’s educational.
And it stays with you.
Families welcome (children must remain under direct parent supervision)
You can be fully hands-on or observe within your comfort level — we’ll guide you either way.
$50 per nuclear family (first-come, first served)
This offering goes directly toward purchasing a commercial-grade scalder to keep building real, hands-on education on the farm.
Spots are limited — we only have 49 birds
Let us know how many in your group will be participating so we can prepare stations
This is the kind of learning you don’t forget.
