Nokomis, Saturday, May 9th, 9 am
49 birds. One day. Full-circle learning.

There’s something different about learning where your food comes from…
Not watching — doing.

We’re opening up Lightfoot Farms for a hands-on Chicken Processing Day, where families step into real, practical skills most people have lost.

This is a guided, start-to-finish experience where we move together through each station — learning how to process a chicken with clarity, respect, and purpose. Experiences like this are often taught in small farm classes focused on humane harvesting and full-process education

This is where:
🌾 Kids understand food at a whole new level
🛠 Families build real self-sufficiency together
💪 Confidence is built with your own two hands

It’s honest.
It’s educational.
And it stays with you.

Families welcome (children must remain under direct parent supervision)

You can be fully hands-on or observe within your comfort level — we’ll guide you either way.

$50 per nuclear family (first-come, first served)
This offering goes directly toward purchasing a commercial-grade scalder to keep building real, hands-on education on the farm.

Spots are limited — we only have 49 birds
Let us know how many in your group will be participating so we can prepare stations

This is the kind of learning you don’t forget.

Week 23 at Lightfoot Farm and we are still pinching ourselves.

This week, our Kingdom Kin pulled on their very first beekeeping suits, walked out to the hives together, and stepped into something truly wonder-filled. There were nervous giggles. Wide eyes. A few deep breaths. And then — pure, unfiltered awe.

We learned about the remarkable life cycle of the honeybee 🍯 and we sat together in God’s Word, meditating on the first two verses of the Beatitudes in Matthew 5 — “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.”

And somehow, standing next to those hives — watching thousands of tiny creatures go about the purpose they were made for — those words hit different.

He designed all of this. Every bee. Every role. Every little life buzzing with intention.

How could we not stand in awe? 🙏
This is what Kingdom Kin is about. Facing fears together. Learning together. And finding God in the most unexpected, extraordinary places.

Welcome to Week 23. We’re just getting started.

We could teach this from a book.

But instead—

they’re standing in it.

Watching order.

Witnessing responsibility.

Learning that even the smallest roles matter.

Beekeeping isn’t just science.

It’s formation.

If you’ve been searching for an education that trains both the mind and the spirit— come see what’s happening here.

They don’t just learn about it…
they step into it.

At Lightfoot Farms, young learners suit up, slow down, and step into a world most only read about.
They’ll open a hive with steady hands.
Watch thousands of bees move in perfect order.
Hold frames filled with honeycomb.
And begin to understand—deeply—how creation works.
This isn’t a petting zoo moment.
This is hands-on, guided, real learning.

What the experience includes:

Beekeeping + hive observation (age-appropriate, fully guided)
Farm rounds with over 100 animals
Outdoor exploration + unstructured nature play
Real-world learning in biology, systems, and stewardship
Moments that naturally point back to the Creator’s design

Perfect for:
• Homeschool co-ops
• Classrooms & microschools
• Family groups
• Birthday celebrations with meaning

Why families choose this:
Because children don’t need more screens or worksheets.
They need real experiences that build confidence, curiosity, and courage.
They need to touch the learning.
To see how things work.
To feel the responsibility of it.
And somewhere in the middle of it all—
they begin to change.

Private bookings available
We host small, intentional groups so every child is seen, guided, and safe.
If you’ve been looking for something more than a typical outing—this is it.

🌿✨ Faith Meets Science at Kingdom Kin ✨🌿

Each week, our learning begins where it always should — with the Creator Himself. 🙏
We open Scripture, wonder at His handiwork, and then step outside to experience it.

This week our Kin explored what it means to “draw near to Him and be nourished” —
like a tree planted by streams of water
Psalm 1:1–3

From there, faith met science:
💧 We studied diffusion and osmosis, discovering how water moves through leaves and roots — just like His Spirit moves through us, giving life where it flows.
🌱 Then we foliar fed our garden and food forest, watching firsthand how nourishment moves through creation when it’s rooted and thriving in good soil.

At Kingdom Kin, we don’t just teach about God’s world — we let children touch, taste, and see His truth in action.
