WOW! A lot has been happening here at Critter-Central!
Firstly, A bit late, but I had to announce the newest member of the pack! This is my Boy Oakley, he’s a 5 month old basset! We got him back in early august.
Unfortunately, as of almost a month ago, he has some bigger “paws” to fill, as my baby girl LuLu which many of you know/knew, she suddenly developed kidney failure and we had to help her cross the rainbow bridge. I miss her so much, but I know how much worse it would be if I had a hound-less home.
On a lighter note, I did start a new job, and I am able to book for weekends as well as week-days for sitting if you are within a certain distance from me! I am so excited to be able to help you and your pets stay safe and comfortable and offer my services again. Please feel free to message the page or text me for a quote and to set up a meet and greet, if I haven’t done one with you recently already! 🙂 have a safe and happy holiday everyone! I have one slot open for thanksgiving day, If anyone needs last minute pet sitting!

Merry Christmas! Please bring your pets inside where it’s warm! Even dogs with winter coats will get too cold simply because they’re not used to these temps! 🖤

Indianapolis Animal Care and Control is urging pet owners to bring their animals inside, with the temperature dipping below 20.

Vincent popping in to say hello and he asks you to support a local student instead of leaving your pet in a boarding facility/kennel! How can you say no to those little brown eyes and that face?! 🤗🤗

Well, I figured it’s time I show you all my newest addition to the family, Vincent. He is a 3.5 month old French Bulldog Boston Terrier. This little guy is going in the dictionary under “foster failure” as that’s the very definition of what he was! 😂 we love him to death and even though he’s mainly my sisters Doggo, you all know me, I’m the best dog uncle in the world haha! So here’s to many impromptu road trips with Louie, slobbery sneezes, and sassy arguements to come!!! ♥️🐾♥️

So I know this is a long overdue post; but it needed to be made. Back in early March of this year, I, with the help of god and the generosity of you all, got my first vehicle. Meet Jake from State Farm (he has kaki leather interior), my 2003 NewBeetle GLS Cabriolet! I’m so proud to say I have done every bit of maintenance and repairs on this car, and all thanks to you guys. Without you trusting me to take care of your pets, none of this would have been possible.i even saved $2500 in labor on a new top by installing it with a friend! I bought the top after saving up from several gigs. It took years of earning your and your pet’s trust, but I finally got a vehicle and am able to go to clients in neighboring cities with ease, and I’m able to work more days than I was depending on my parents for transportation. Thank you all for making this possible, and thank you for helping me grow this business and keep more pets out of boarding facilities! I look forward to seeing where the business and clientele takes me in the next few years♥️

To all of my clients, we are under an excessive heat warning, and so is the majority of central Indiana for TOMORROW THROUGH SUNDAY. Please do not take walks or let your dog/cat/other pet outside for an extended period of time between 2pm tomorrow (call it 1:15 or 1:30 to play it safe) and 8pm on Sunday. The article below outlines both the onset times and symptoms to look for pet heat stroke, as they do vary slightly from those you’d look for in a human.
Also; even if you or your pet are both extremely active, for the sake of you both, do not walk. Why?
You have shoes. Dogs and cats do not. They have paws.
Air temp- 77° asphalt temp- 125°
Air temp- 87° Asphalt temp- 135°
Skin destruction can occur to paws in 60 seconds or less at 125°. You do the math, tomorrow through Sunday it’ll only take seconds for paws to get hurt. Potty brakes are okay, obviously, but should be kept to a minimum length wise. I do NOT recommend doing this at all during the heat advisory, but a good rule of thumb is to put your hand on the concrete/asphalt for 7 seconds. No gloves or anything. If it’s too hot for you, it’s too hot for your pet to be walking without booties. Please keep your pets water bowl full and accessible during the extreme heat. I hope you guys have a great rest of your week, and stay safe! Fuzzy and non fuzzy clients alike 🙂

With summer well on its way and temperatures starting to rise, the dangers for our furry friends start to rise too. Even though the summer months can be a fun and enjoyable, it is important to be aware of certain situations that could put our pets at risk and how to prevent or handle them. Of all th...
