That’s wrap on fair week! Lakeside had 8 horses move into and an additional 3 shown at the Hamilton County 4H Fair this year. Our barn brought home numerous banners and top placings, but beyond the results, we’re so proud of the way our kids persevered in the 100 degree heat, practiced good horsemanship, and cheered for one another. Our barn is filled with the best community! We’re thankful for all the people that call Lakeside home. Josiah, Erica, and Sam made sure our kids were prepared, focused, and most importantly remembered to have fun. Thank you to all of the volunteers that make 4H possible. Even the Lakeside goats came home with some ribbons! 🩵🍀🩵

I hear there’s a Lakeside Dads group forming for the adult farmer’s Olympics next year…. 😜

To be eligible for a High Point Buckle, riders must compete in contesting/fun game classes on both days.

Thank you to everyone’s kindness, understanding, and prayers for our family! I’ll continue to update on our boarders chat. We love all of you. 🥹🩵

As of right now, we should still be able to make the Cicero parade Saturday morning. Reminder that everyone needs to be ready to haul out around 9 am.

Also, just a reminder that North Harbour’s fireworks are tonight and can be seen from the farm. In years past, our horses have not been disturbed by the noise but we will be mindful of the activity in the area. Happy 4th of July!

Last day of camp for Week 2! These kids had a blast learning about, painting, and riding our horses. Thanks for spending part of your Summer with us. 🩵

A big thank you to our barn family for donating your time, talent, and resources to help us put on a fabulous show! Yesterday was a massive success. Connecting with other equestrians in the community was so fun! We saw nothing but kindness and good sportsmanship throughout the day and that was our biggest hope. Riders supported and encouraged each other.

We’re also so thankful for our judges, and their willingness to give feedback and share their expertise. And we absolutely could not have asked for better weather!

And thank you to our sponsors: The Piper, Janssens Vet Clinic, Barnum, Grand Champion Tack and Saddlery, and Pharis Trucking.

We walked the property today and we were so impressed by our visitors. You couldn’t even tell we hosted a 14 hour show (with 140+ entries) yesterday and not a single piece of trash was left behind.

We’re working on our next date! What is a good date to host another one this Fall? Also if we did a week night contesting and fun classes only would you haul in? Potentially with a guaranteed payback? If you joined us, we’d love to hear from you on what you enjoyed and what we can improve!
