Bens Ranch and Koteewi Stables in Strawtown is searching for someone to cut and bale 16 acres. The operator can keep the hay, which is probably cattle feed quality. We need it cut and are happy to give away this cutting. It will need to be removed from field within a couple of weeks from cutting. Possible opportunity to bale again before end of season. Meet Our New Barn Manager: Roberta "Bobbi" Milam
We are thrilled to welcome Roberta "Bobbi" Milam as our new Barn Manager!
Bobbi brings more than 45 years of equestrian experience and a lifetime of dedication to horses, education, and leadership. An accomplished dressage rider and trainer, she has successfully trained and competed horses from Introductory through Third Level, earning recognition as a USDF Regional Finalist and multiple Half Arabian Regional Top 10 and U.S. National placings.
Throughout her career, Bobbi has studied under nationally recognized clinicians and has owned and managed successful boarding facilities, giving her extensive experience in horse care, stable operations, and developing safe, welcoming environments for both horses and riders.
Education has always been at the heart of Bobbi's work. She has taught college-level applied sciences, traveled as a dressage instructor, and most recently founded and led the riding lesson program at Ben's Ranch Foundation, where she serves as Head Riding Instructor. Her passion for mentoring riders of all ages and abilities aligns perfectly with our mission of using horses to educate, inspire, and transform lives.
In addition to her equestrian accomplishments, Bobbi enjoyed a distinguished career in healthcare and clinical research, serving in leadership positions with organizations including Eli Lilly, Roche Diagnostics, Covance, PRA Health Sciences, and Parexel. Her experience managing complex teams, developing educational programs, and leading large-scale operations has strengthened the organizational and leadership skills she now brings to our barn.
As Barn Manager, Bobbi will oversee the daily care of our horses, support volunteers and staff, and ensure our barn continues to provide a safe, positive, and enriching environment for everyone who walks through our doors.
We are excited to have someone with her knowledge, compassion, and experience leading our barn, and we know she will make a lasting impact on our team and the families we serve.

Position Summary:

Consistent with the mission of Ben’s Ranch Foundation, the Barn & Facilities Manager of Koteewi Stables will oversee the daily operations of the equine public riding facility while supporting youth development programs through safe, well-managed animal care and facility operations.

This position is responsible for managing the horses, livestock, facilities, equipment, volunteers, and part-time staff that support both public trail riding operations and youth programming. The Manager will create a safe, welcoming, and professional environment for visitors, volunteers, youth participants, and community partners.

The Manager will supervise and mentor volunteers and staff, maintain high standards of animal welfare, oversee facility maintenance, and support the Foundation’s mission of helping youth build confidence, responsibility, and life skills through meaningful experiences involving animals and agriculture.

Koteewi Stable and Trails is a public horseback riding facility located within Koteewi Park in Strawtown, Indiana. The Stables served more than 1,000 customers in 2025 and generated over $100,000 in revenue. The facility also serves as a key platform for Ben’s Ranch programs, including youth internships, small-group programs, and hands-on learning experiences.
