💡Pet Care Tip: Training your new pup isn't always easy, but that doesn't mean you should give up! Be consistent with your commands and always use the same words. However, be careful that you don't over-praise your dog. A small treat or quick "good" is plenty, and doing too much can actually distract them more than it helps!

When you think of pet sitting services, you usually picture an adorable puppy or a fuzzy cat. While we absolutely love caring for traditional pets, those aren't the only animals we see! If you have any of these other pets in your household, we may be able to help:

🔶Exotic fish
🔶Axolotls
🔶Birds
🔶Lizards
🔶Snakes
🔶Frogs

Send us a message today, and we can schedule an in-home consultation where we discuss your pet's needs!

🐶Pet Spotlight: Meet Linus! He's such a sweet boy, and very fluffy, too! He loves going on walks, sniffing around the backyard, and getting plenty of pets from our sitters. We love taking care of Linus while his humans are away, and we'd be happy to take are of your furry friends as well! Give us a call or send us a quick message to get the ball rolling.

💡Pet Care Tip: Temperatures are heating up and we all need to make sure we're staying hydrated. That goes for your dogs, too! Most dogs need one ounce of water per pound of body weight each day, and it's easiest to just make sure your pup has round-the-clock access to water. Tap water is perfectly safe for animals in most places, but bottled or filtered water is great as well.

Watering is one of our core services at Pawsitively Spoiled. Whenever we visit your home, we always make sure your pets have plenty of clean water to drink!

At Pawsitively Spoiled, we proud to take pet care to the next level! In addition to dog walking and feeding your cats for the day, we can take care of a few more household tasks while you're away. Our sitters are happy to bring in the mail, take packages off the porch, water your plants, and take out the trash upon request. Just let us know how we can help!

💡Pet Care Tip: Have you been putting off getting your pup microchipped? Now that the warmer weather has us out of the house more, it's the perfect time to make sure you always find your pet in case they wander away. If you can't get a microchip right away, have them wear an ID tag with their name and your phone number!

At Pawsitively Spoiled, we take every precaution to make sure your pup stays on leash while we're out on a walk, but these safety measures are always advisable for your peace of mind!

Temps are up, and that means more sweat! Just like humans, dogs can get sweaty, but they actually sweat out of their paw pads. This doesn't help them cool down very much, though- panting is the primary way pups cool down after some time in the sun!

Ready to leave for vacation? Before you go, make sure to get some things ready for our sitters! Here's what we need from you so your pet sitting experience goes smoothly:

🔶Update your instructions and make sure your garage code and/or alarm codes are correct
🔶Set out any medications (out of your pets' reach, of course!)
🔶Make sure your pet's food is easily accessible and mention its location in your instructions
🔶If you have complex instructions, consider leaving us a printed copy on your kitchen table

If you check all these boxes, our team will be able to give your pet the best care possible!

💡Pet Care Tip: While spring usually has us breaking out the gardening tools and cultivating some indoor shrubs, be sure you remember which plants are toxic to pets. Specifically, azaleas, rhododendrons, and tulips can be very harmful to pets if ingested. Keep your furry friends well away from these plants and get to an emergency vet right away if you're worried your pet may have eaten some. When in doubt, leave it out of your garden!

Boarding your pets while you're on vacation just isn't the best way to make sure they're cared for. Pets do much better at home, where they can eat their own food and stay comfy in their own, familiar environment.

Even if you're out of town for more than just a weekend, in-home pet sitting is still your best option! The sitters at Pawsitively Spoiled would be glad to come up with a visit schedule that matches your and your pets' needs.
