The grass is turning green with all of the rain☔️

Spring grasses contain a lot of non-structural carbohydrates (NSC; sugars, starch, and fructans) that can cause issues when consumed in large volumes! This can cause weight gain, trigger laminitis, or colic.

When introducing spring grasses back into your horses diet make sure to be mindful because this fresh grass is extra tasty!

Rudolphi Veterinary Service has recently diagnosed a horse with EHV-1. This is an isolated case and is following strict quarantine and biosecurity measures in place. No other barns with a positive test have been connected to this barn. The EDCC, Missouri and Illinois State Veterinarians have been contacted with this information.
