In honor of Lost Dog Awareness Day, we wanted to share some helpful tips in case your best friend ever wanders away from home:

1. Post a photo of your dog, your contact information, and an approx. geographic location of where they were last seen on message boards and Leigh's Lost and Found .

2. Check with local animal shelters and your local animal control
