The Slab Kitty sanctuary his hosting the project of the Slab Kitty Spay Train that has the mission of spaying the most cats possible in Slab City
Thanks to Andra Slaburbia public relation campain, that brought us the chance to have a clinic that spays community cats for free in the San Diego area, we only have the gas fees to provide! Her contacts also got us the traps needed for the missions and brought us a partenership whit Bombay spay train that, by exange of services, will help us in our spaying mission.
Thanks to our cat people field team Micha Baroque and Lindy Bridges who made our first spay misson a succes whit 5 queens spayed.
We are currently working on spaying the females of 3 colonies in the slab so the propagation of kitten cease. This is a harsh environment especially for vulnerable kittens. We work daily to find new low cost or free clinics to be able to fix the most we can as fast as possible so no more kittens as to live in these conditions. If you have any hints to help us achieve our mission, please contact us.
The Slab Kitty sanctuary provides the trapping service, the trip to the clinic and a 24 hour of after care so the cats can recover in an AC room after surgery.
If you are aware of some cats that need to be fixed in your area please contact us! We will put them on the waiting list! We will need to prioritize females for efficiency purposes. We are trying to achieve two missions a month. Depending on the donations, we may ask a small gas fee per cats since we are all doing it volontary.
