Our AKC Bernese Mountain Dogs are health tested with the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) and receive DNA testing for genetic disorders common to the breed. We strongly believe that this is necessary in order to raise sound, healthy pups. Our pups are raised and socialized with children and dogs, and exposed to other types of animals on our farm. Pony Trail Farm is a small family-owned and

operated dairy goat farm in Northeast Georgia, conveniently located near Athens, GA, and only 20 minutes away from i-85. We have bred Saanen Dairy goats and health-tested AKC Great Pyrenees for over 20 years, and have recently added health-tested AKC Bernese Mountain Dogs to the farm. Pups are ready to go at 8 weeks of age, and have first vaccines, deworming, vet checks, microchip, 12 month health & 24 month orthopedic warranties and unconditional lifetime return if necessary to rehome. Parents genetically matched to produce pups not At Risk/Affected for DM (types SOD1-A and SOD1-B) or vWD. Dam has final OFA certifications, including GOOD hips, and NORMAL elbows, shoulders, patellas, and cardiac. DNA tests - CLEAR for vWD and DM SOD1-B, carrier for DM SOD1-A. All results listed in the BernerGarde database. Sire is too young for OFA Final certifications, but currently has OFA preliminary exam rated GOOD for hips. DNA tested CLEAR for DM SOD1-A and SOD1-B, carrier for vWD. Results listed in the BernerGarde database. From AKC champion bloodlines.

Meet Southern Charm Summer of Pony Trail!

Summer is just over a year old, a beautiful, sweet girl we got as a puppy from Southern Charm Bernese Mountain Dogs.

Summer just had her initial OFA exams, and we're pleased that she has preliminary scores of GOOD hips and NORMAL elbows, and certifications for NORMAL cardiac, patellas, and shoulders. If all goes well, she'll be joining the breeding program at 2 years of age when final hip & elbow OFAs have been passed.

Summer & Marcy are having a blast with the snow day! "If you're cold, they're cold" doesn't quite apply with Berners & Pyrs! These pups have three options today to keep them happy & warm when necessary: Outdoor access on demand in a safe yard, a doggy door to a heated entry room, and an outdoor shed with straw bedding if they want cooler shelter.
