🐾 Meet Your New Best Friend! It's Shelter Buddies time!🐾

From left to right, meet this month’s Shelter Buddies — handpicked by Dr. Coney from AHON and Renee from JCAC:

🩷 Brini – Our longest-term resident with the gentlest soul. Her sweet, kind nature is impossible not to love — she’s patiently waiting for the perfect match.

🩵 Max – A curious and playful young kitty with a taste for adventure. Whether it’s chasing toys or climbing cat trees, Max is always up for some fun.

💚 Buddy – True to his name, Buddy is everyone’s best friend! This happy, friendly boy would thrive in an active home with plenty of love (and fetch).

💜 Butters – Our lovable queen of comfort. She’s a little extra on the fluff (and charm), and would flourish with a family ready to give her the TLC she deserves.

It's flea/tick/heartworm and intestinal worm season as well (though we recommend it year-round!), so be sure to keep your fuzzy four-legged kids on prevention! The cicada emergence has begun!! Please watch your pets, as many dogs find cicada’s a delicacy and will eat them non stop. Cicadas eaten in high numbers can actually cause cases of pancreatitis, at times severe enough to be life threatening!

We would like to share an update to our policy for nail trims.

Effective today, all scheduled nail trim appointments must be current on a rabies vaccine. Rabies vaccines are not only required by law in the state of Kentucky, but the safety of our staff, clients and patients is our top priority.

If your pet has had a rabies vaccination with us previously, we are more than happy to booster their vaccine at their nail trim appointment, if it is past due. If your pet has had a rabies vaccine elsewhere, we will require proof of immunization prior to their scheduled nail trim appointment. If your pet has not had a rabies vaccine in the past, or there is not proof of them having one, we must schedule the rabies vaccine appointment 2 weeks prior to scheduling the nail trim appointment.

If you have any additional questions or concerns regarding the changes to this policy, please contact us at 859-887-8086. We appreciate your understanding and continued support as we attempt to ensure safety for our staff, our clients and their pets.
