Happy Thursday! Managing diabetes in pets can feel overwhelming at first, but you don’t have to navigate it alone. 🩺💙 Daily insulin injections, consistent routines, and careful monitoring all play a vital role in keeping your pet healthy—and the effort is worth it. Untreated diabetes can lead to dangerous ketones and life-threatening illness, but with proper management, diabetic pets can truly thrive.

That’s why we’re sharing these AAHA Diabetes Management Guidelines for Dogs and Cats. They’re designed to help you work hand-in-hand with your veterinary team and give your pet the best possible quality of life.

🐾 November Pets of the Month! 🐾
Yeah yeah… we know we’re late, but these two were worth the wait! 😅💛

Meet Cosmo, our 3-year-old Dapple Dachshund who lives for wiener dog races, squeaky toys, and chaos. He’s never met a toy he couldn’t destroy — and honestly, he’s proud of it. 💥🐾

And then there’s Shampoo, our fabulous feline who knows she’s the main character. She naps hard, loves harder, and runs the house like it’s her personal kingdom. 👑🐱

Think your pet has what it takes to steal the spotlight next month? Enter our Pet of the Month drawing at the front desk — fame, glory, and bragging rights await! ✨

🌟 Well… we’ve done it again! 🌟
We’re thrilled to share that we’ve landed in the Top 5 Best Veterinary Clinics in our state and top 200 best in the country — for the second year in a row! 🎉
While we can’t reference the article sharing the results directly (due to some limitations with their advertising package), we couldn’t keep the good news to ourselves. Poll or no poll (you can find the results by googling top veterinary clinics for 2026), what truly matters is you — our amazing clients, who trust us with the care of your pets every day. 🐾💙
To our incredible team: thank you for showing up, giving your best, and sharing a piece of your heart with every patient and client who walks through our doors. We would be nothing without each of you.
Here’s to another year of love, care, and wagging tails! 🐶🐱❤️

🐾 SHELTER BUDDIES 🐾

It’s time to meet November’s Shelter Buddies! 🧡

Our friends at Jessamine County Animal Care & Control have so many wonderful pets waiting for homes, and each month our team helps highlight a few special faces.

This month, David from the Animal Hospital of Nicholasville chose Ripley (the lovable, happy dog who just wants to be everyone’s best friend) and Misty (the soft, shy sweetheart who melts right into your arms). 🐶🐱

And Monica from JCACC picked Gus (the gentle giant with a heart of gold) and Susan (the affectionate cuddlebug who loves to be close). 💛

Best of all, AHON sponsors the adoption fees for these featured pets—making it even easier for them to find their forever homes!

Want to meet them in person? 🐾 Stop by the Jessamine County Animal Shelter to visit, get more information, or fill out an adoption application. Your new best friend might just be waiting for you! 🐕🐈

🎃 Happy Halloween from all of us at the Animal Hospital of Nicholasville! 👻

Our team is wishing you and your furry (or not-so-furry!) family members a safe, fun, and treat-filled day! 🍬🐾

Whether your pets are rocking their costumes or just celebrating with extra snuggles, we hope your Halloween is full of smiles and wagging tails. 🧡🖤

Stay safe, have fun, and don’t forget — chocolate is for humans, not pets! 😉

📸 Share your pet’s costume pics with us in the comments — we’d love to see them!

🌳 Tilly, while waiting for her appointment with us today, made the perfect highlight for reminding everyone about our Giving Tree! 🌳

We have leaves available in different sizes that you can purchase to honor a beloved pet’s memory or celebrate a furry friend still with you. 💚

All proceeds go directly to our Community Care Fund, which helps clients in times of unexpected need so their pets can continue to receive the care they deserve.

Tilly (with Cora’s help!) wanted to remind everyone to stop by and purchase a leaf — every leaf tells a story of love and kindness. 🍃🐾

🚧 Construction Notice & Pet Comfort Update 🐾

You may notice a little more noise than usual during your next visit! Due to construction happening behind our building, there’s been some extra banging and booming that—unfortunately—is out of our control.

While we pride ourselves on creating a Fear Free environment for our patients, this temporary situation may cause added stress for some pets. If your furry friend has an upcoming appointment and you’re concerned the noise might make them anxious, please contact us a few days ahead of time. We’d be happy to discuss options, including short-term anxiety medication, to help make their visit as comfortable as possible. 💙

Thank you for your understanding and patience while we navigate this noisy season together!

🌟 We’re wrapping up our Vet Tech Week celebration with the two amazing people who keep everything running behind the scenes — our awesome assistants, Kim and Loryn! 🌟

Need something? Just ask — they’ve got you covered! Their days are filled with all the things: laundry, cleaning, running labs, caring for every patient in our hospital, and handling the million little details that make our day go smoothly.

And they do it all with a smile — Kim’s usually comes with a dash of good-natured sass (which we absolutely love 😄). These two are truly the unsung heroes of our team, making sure everything gets done — even the things no one else sees.

💙 Thank you, Kim and Loryn! We love you both and couldn’t do what we do without you! 💙

🌟 Team Spotlight! 🌟
Today we’re excited to shine the spotlight on our two newest teammates — Jasmyn and Virginia! 💕

We’re so happy to have them on the team and hope they’re enjoying getting to know us as much as we’re enjoying getting to know them. 🐾

What we’ve already learned is that both ladies have huge hearts for animals and are so thoughtful and caring in everything they do for our clients and their pets. 💖

Help us give them a big, warm welcome — we’re so glad they’re here! 🥰🐶🐱

Today we’re showcasing Libby, Gracie, and Noel — three more amazing team members we truly couldn’t manage without.

Libby works hard to keep us organized and on track — from making sure we stay current with our AAHA trainings to handling deliveries the right way and ensuring your questions for our doctors are cared for with the attention they deserve. Beyond keeping us running smoothly, Libby shows up with a big, generous heart — for her family, her home full of foster-fail pets, and her teammates. She makes sure everyone feels seen and celebrated, especially on their birthdays.

Gracie has earned her growth from Assistant to Technical Assistant through her dedication and determination to do every task the right way. We love her caring heart, her sense of humor, and her positive, willing attitude. She makes sure every patient is seen and cared for to the standards our team strives to uphold — and her smile brightens every day.

Noel has also worked his way up from Assistant to Technical Assistant. He partners with Libby to ensure shipments are handled properly, and he makes it his mission to help fearful patients feel safe and understood. We appreciate his humor, his warmth, and the way he reflects our appreciation for every client who walks through our doors.

Thank you, Libby, Gracie, and Noel, for not only showing up, but for showing your hearts every day. We love and appreciate each of you! ❤️
