It’s the time of year where the days are getting longer and warmer and the cats are getting pregnant. Thanks to donations and volunteers, we were able to neuter two and spay one cat this week, and several more the week before. They were all from New London colonies. A big thank you to Robin for assisting the surgery and Laura and Eva for being incredible volunteers who trap, transport, and find fosters and homes for the adoptable cats. cats kittens cat kitten TNR trapneuterreturn nianticct niantic nianticanimalhospital 501c nonprofit volunteer

Up for adoption! These two bonded brothers were part of a colony in Old Black Point Niantic. They are vaccinated and neutered, and about 5 months old. They are looking for a home together. They are a little anxious from being outside for the first couple months of their lives, but have come around fast with treats and love given by their current foster. If you’re interested in adopting, send us a message!

Yesterday, we were able to neuter and vaccinate 2 boys, and spay and vaccinate 4 girls. Thank you to everyone who sent in donations for the holiday season— those really help us cover the cost of the materials we use!

For 20 years, we worked with the most kind and compassionate woman who would take care of feral cats in New London, bring them to us to be spayed and neutered and vaccinated, and to be adopted out as well. We just got news that she has significant dementia, her house is being sold, and she has several cats that need to find new loving homes as assisted care cannot take in the cats. If they don’t get homes, unfortunately, they will be euthanized. We obviously want to do all we can to avoid that. We will cover updating vaccines and any other medical updates that need to happen. They are five years old. Please reach out if you want more information or interested in adopting. We will post to our website soon once we have more information on their personalities and genders

Up for Adoption: this sweet girl is looking for her new home. Her owner is going into a retirement facility that won’t let her have more than one cat, and she knows Hannah will fit into a new home more seamlessly. She is about 12 years old, spayed, and up to date on vaccinations. Unsure how she would do with dogs. Please reach out if you are interested.

Meet “Amber”. She is a shy but sweet girl approximately 1 year old. She came to us from Norwich, and clearly had at least one litter of kittens in her short life so far. She is afraid, but has never tried to bite or scratch, even when her current foster (Carson— Foff board member) pull her out from the slats under the bed for socializing. She shakes in fear for the first 10-20 minutes of socialization, but then warms up, especially for belly rubs. She has purred, and has a sweet meow. She is polydactyl, sporting 6 toes on each front paw, 5 on one hind foot, and the typical 4 on the other hind foot. We are searching for her forever home, but also a foster In the meantime as Carson’s schedule does not offer the time needed to pull this sweet girl out of her shell. We also love a foster-to-adopt situation; a two week foster period where you can get to know her in your home if you are interested in adopting but want to ensure the personality match is a good one! Please reach out!
