**(Facebook doesn't let business pages post videos and photos in the same post, so check out the first comment for a video of Kashu zooming!)**
I get a lot of animal wheelchairs donated to me from Vintage Pet Rescue. Most I send to the animals in war-torn Ukraine. But last week I had the honor of dropping off a donated wheelchair to Don't Forget Us, Pet Us Farm Sanctuary. Don't Forget Us recently took in a Nigerian dwarf goat who was surrendered after he suffered a traumatic spinal injury soon after birth. Kashu lost use of his back legs and it also made his front legs a little wonky. He's been improving a tiny bit with a LOT of physical therapy (the woman who runs the sanctuary is an angel), but hasn't been able to try out being fully mobile with a sturdy wheelchair in a while because his previous wheelchair broke. Within 10 seconds of strapping him in, he was off to the races!!! Kashu's family said he was moving and running and jumping like he had never moved and ran and jumped before!!! ❤️ The cart (a *very* high quality one that was custom made for a previous dog by Eddie's Wheels) was the perfect size! It was so great to see such a happy little goat! 🐐♿
While I was there, I also got to say hi to beautiful and emotionally intelligent Kiki (an immobile sheep who became paralyzed after contracting a virus as a baby - she is the first recorded case of survival from the virus - and who absolutely adores dancing and swaying her head along to music), Krinkle (a handsome crooked sheep who is just a sweetheart), as well as their newest addition to the sanctuary, Acorn the chicken.
(Side note: if anyone knows of any engineering clubs at local colleges or high schools that need a project to work on, Krinkle is looking for a hydraulic powered bed that tilts up to help him get up in the morning. Sort of like the sheep version of those motorized lay-z-boy recliners that help elderly stand up after sitting.)
P.s. I highly highly recommend following both these rescues. ❤️
