Spring Break hours for walking in
March 17th to April 5th
Monday-Closed
Tuesday- 12pm to 5pm
Wednesday- 12pm to 5pm
Thursday- 12pm to 5pm
Friday- 12pm to 6pm
Saturday 12pm to 6pm
Sunday 12pm to 5pm

Please remember we let our last groups in an hour before closing.

Extra experiences (private time with animals) depending on animal and your energy experiences are 15 minutes
Sloth $20
Fennec Fox $15
Binturong/Bearcat $15
Baby Kangaroo cuddle time $20 per group up to 4 people at a time.

Newport Zoo is looking for someone to help with morning cleanup. It will be for part time hours. You will be shoveling, sweeping, changing bedding, pressure washing cage, cleaning glass, doing dishes, dusting. You will need to have your own reliable transportation. You need to be able to live 50lb bags of feed and hay, load garbage bags in a truck. You will be working around animals but not particularly with animals.

Pay will depend on experience and reliability.

An early morning employee arriving to open up a local movie theater was immediately greeted by the familiar, heavy scent of freshly buttered popcorn in the dark lobby. Assuming a coworker had simply come in early and fired up the concession stand, he walked behind the counter to start preparing for the first matinee of the day. Instead of finding a busy coworker, he discovered a massive, shaggy black animal sprawled out and fast asleep right on top of the glass popcorn machine.

The bizarre intruder turned out to be a wild binturong, a rare jungle mammal often called a bearcat, which is famously known in the animal kingdom for naturally smelling exactly like hot buttered popcorn. The clever creature had likely broken into the theater overnight and sought out the highest, warmest resting spot it could find. Animal control specialists safely removed the heavy sleeper before the doors opened, leaving the cinema staff laughing over the most ironically scented break-in imaginable.

This is little Lee he’s is a 6 month Red Kangaroo pouch Joey that will be bottle feeding at the Newport Zoo. We will be doing private experiences with him and some of the other baby kangaroos starting this Saturday.

Kangaroo experiences are $20 per group of up to 4 people at a time. The experience is 15 minutes long and includes food to feed the babies.

No appointments needed just sign up when you check in at the front desk.

General admission pricing
Adults: $15
17 and under: $12
2 and under are free

Now that the holidays are over and everything has settled down Jerry the sloth is getting restless looking for visitors for a one on one experience with him. If you are getting tired of the cold weather Jerry stays a balmy 80 plus degrees so it is a nice change. If you decide you would like to visit with him it is a feeding and petting experience it is all on his terms so there will be no picking up or holding as he is not wanting that. The experiences are 15 minutes and $20 a person with a 5 year old and under being free with each paying adult.
