🐾 Why the Change?

I’ve made the decision to simplify my pet drop-in services by offering 30-minute and 45-minute visits instead of shorter options.

Over the past few years, I’ve had the privilege of caring for a wide variety of animals—not just dogs! My clients have included dogs, cats, outdoor cats, chickens, tortoises, puppies, senior pets, and multi-pet households, and each one deserves individualized care.

The extra time allows me to provide more than just the basics. Whether it’s potty breaks, feeding, litter box cleaning, collecting eggs, refreshing water, enrichment, playtime, or simply spending quality time with your pets, I don’t want to feel rushed.

Every pet has different needs, and these updated visit lengths allow me to provide the compassionate, personalized care that No Longer Naughty LLC is known for.

Thank you for trusting me with your furry, feathered, and shelled family members. I look forward to continuing to care for them as if they were my own. 💜🐾

🐾 Sunday Training Tidbits 🐾

🚪 Door Manners 🚪

One of the simplest skills you can teach your dog could also be one of the most important.

Teaching your dog to wait at the door isn’t just about good manners—it’s about safety.

A dog that learns to calmly wait before going through a doorway is less likely to:
🐾 Dash outside
🐾 Run into the street
🐾 Knock someone over
🐾 Slip past you when guests arrive

💡 How to start:
✔ Ask your dog to sit a few feet away from the door.
✔ Slowly begin opening the door.
✔ If they stay in position, mark the behavior (“Yes!”) and reward.
✔ If they get up, simply close the door and try again.
✔ When they’re consistently waiting, release them with a cue like “Okay!” and go through the doorway together.

Remember, don’t rush the process. A few minutes of practice each day builds lifelong habits.

🎯 Training Tip: Practice at every door—not just the front door! Bedroom doors, the garage door, the car door, and even the crate door are all opportunities to build impulse control.

💜🐾 AUGUST PREVENTION REMINDER 🐾💜

August is here, but mosquito, flea, and tick season is far from over!

Now is the perfect time to make sure your dog is protected with their monthly:
🦟 Heartworm Prevention
🪳 Flea Prevention
✔️ Tick Prevention

Heartworm disease is transmitted by mosquitoes and can be life-threatening. Fleas and ticks don’t just cause itchy skin—they can also spread diseases to both pets and people.

Don’t let your guard down just because summer is winding down. Parasites remain active well into the fall, making consistent monthly prevention one of the easiest ways to keep your best friend healthy.

🐾 This month’s checklist:
✅ Give monthly preventatives
✅ Check collars and tags
✅ Inspect for ticks after outdoor adventures
✅ Mark your calendar for next month’s dose

A few minutes today can help prevent months of treatment tomorrow. 💜

Did your pup get their August prevention yet? Drop a 💜 in the comments if they’re protected!

🐾 Sunday Training Tidbits is Back! 🐾

First, I owe everyone a quick apology for the little break in our weekly training tips. Life has been extra busy between clients, fostering, and everything else that comes with running a small business—but I’m excited to get these back on track! 💜

This week’s tidbit is all about something many people overlook…

👃 Sniffing IS Training Too!

Not every walk has to be about burning energy or covering distance. Giving your dog time to sniff provides valuable mental enrichment and is one of the easiest ways to build confidence.

A good sniff session can:
🐾 Reduce stress and anxiety
🐾 Exercise your dog’s brain
🐾 Build confidence in new environments
🐾 Encourage calm behavior
🐾 Strengthen the bond between you and your dog

Next time you’re out on a walk, slow down a little. Let your dog investigate the world through their nose. You might be surprised how much more relaxed and fulfilled they are afterward.

⚠️ Service Update ⚠️

Due to the very poor air quality combined with the extreme heat, all outdoor dog walks are paused until conditions improve. 🌫️🥵🐾

The health and safety of the dogs in my care will always come first. These conditions can increase the risk of heat stress and respiratory irritation, even during shorter outings.

Clients with scheduled walks will be contacted individually regarding rescheduling, and drop-ins will go on as planned with additional indoor play.

Thank you for your understanding and for trusting No Longer Naughty Dog Walking & Training LLC to always put your dogs’ well-being first. 💜🐾

Please stay cool, stay hydrated, and keep both yourselves and your pets indoors as much as possible until the air quality improves.

🚗 Car Safety for Dogs 🚗

Many dogs enjoy car rides, and sometimes they’re simply a necessary part of life—whether it’s a trip to the vet, training class, daycare, the groomer, or an adventure with the family.

But just like humans, dogs should travel safely.

❗ An unrestrained dog can:
• Become a distraction to the driver
• Be injured during sudden stops or accidents
• Escape through an open door after a collision
• Become a projectile during a crash

🎯 Help keep your pup safe and secure by using:

✔ A properly secured crate
✔ A crash-tested seatbelt attachment or harness
✔ Vehicle barriers when appropriate

A safe dog is a protected dog. 💜

Take a few extra minutes before every trip to secure your pup properly. It could make all the difference.

🐾 Safe travels start before the car leaves the driveway.
