We’ve Got Goats in Residence! Welcome Bluey and Charlie. They will be wintering with us while their family is in CO.

Our plans for regenerative farming are getting started here. This week, we obtained our breeding pair of Kunie Kunis pigs. Jelly Roll, 4 mo and Peppa, Petunia, Pig, 6 mo.

They will serve as the base breeding pair for Great Oaks Farm and The Homestead at Great Oaks to produce quality Kunie Kunie
Pigs and promote small, self sufficient farming

Wonderful weekend on the Great Oaks Farm. Worked in the garden. Alex, Haley, Braelinn and Hunter came and worked in the garden. We got 2.8” of rain last night.

Re~did the blueberries. Planted okra, Marigolds, peppers, purple iris’ transplanted from by the pool to the garden. The bush beans are starting to pop and the strawberries are turning.

And, many Beginnings. The ‘Twins’ - Red and Blue.

Moving from an Equine Farm to a Regenerative Food Farm. We are planning to convert the Pool to a Greenhouse, plant Fruit Orchards, raise Chickens for Eggs and Meat and other Livestock.

To a Protector of the Chattahoochee River Watershed. To a creator of a year round weather source. We have Big Thomas and Little Thomas Creeks already crossing the Property. What should we name the new water source? Tiny Tom? Other ideas?

Our intention is to create a year round water source along the North Side of the Property Line. The 2 Ponds created in the 90’s are on every map. We are confident that there is a Year round Spring on the East of the Runway

The turn of the wheel, the end of an Era, so many endings for new beginnings. 2022 saw a lot of loss. In March, Gus aka Who’s Zoomin’ Who, left us. He joined Tom, at the age of 36, to head out on the long drive on a good day.

Also, Windsor, the next to last Heather ’baby’, passed in December. She went the way we all wish they would; she was happy and fine at dinner and she was not at breakfast.

Another passing who left a big hole was Moose, our 11 year old Weimeriner Blue Tooth Hound. More whoa, than go. Never Forgotten!

In June 2023, the last remaining son of Heather was humanely passed at 37. His Cushing’s and lack of appetite just left him tired.
