We have two special adult girls, Scarlett & Opal, that we are looking to place! 💌

These girls are three years old, and they will be placed as guardians dogs. We are looking for homes within a 2 hour radius of Newell, Iowa and families who are interested in having a connection to our program! ❤️

Our adult dogs live in our home or guardian homes (instead of a kennel) so we can remain the most ethical breeders we can & they can get the best treatment possible!☺️

We’d love to talk with you in more detail! Please visit the page below before reaching out!

Our ethics on goldendoodles (because we are so excited for our July litter!!) 🐕 :

We LOVE our goldendoodles, River and Kobi, and take pride in breeding such great dogs! So, why are they sometimes referred to as “mutts?” Well, let’s break it down! Not all mixed breeds are created equal - and no, a well-bred Goldendoodle is not always an overpriced mutt.

❌ A mutt is typically the result of a “surprise!” breeding. This is random, unplanned, and usually with no knowledge of the health, genetics, or temperament behind it.

⭐️ A purposefully bred dog (like a Goldendoodle from a reputable program) is the opposite. Our goldendoodles are bred with clear goals in mind: to combine the best traits of two breeds on purpose. We are not breeding for a trend, we truly love the breed as well as bettering the health, temperament, structure, and predictability of these dogs!

We are 3 generations into our goldendoodle line, and with proper training, the puppies we produce now have very stable temperaments compared to your neighbor’s “psycho doodle!” 😄

Here’s what we do:
• Full health testing, breeding for calm temperament and blocky heads + a natural size, curriculum-based puppy raising, and a a lifetime of training support for our families.

Goldendoodles are smart, and as a result can be more difficult to train than our beloved derpy goldens. They are a whole different breed!

☕️ A well-bred doodle to a mutt is like a handcrafted latte to a gas station coffee. Both are “coffee”.. but they’re not the same! 😄

We love our doodles & the impact they have in their families! 🥰

Here’s how to make your breeder choice ⬇️⭐️

We’ve talked on our ethical breeding practices, but haven’t addressed unethical breeding or buying. A few heartbreaking events we’ve heard about this week brings it to my attention again. This is long but SO important.

🐕 To decrease shelter numbers and create healthier pets, it’s essential for pet owners to understand the difference between ethical and unethical breeders. It is YOUR breeder choice that contributes to a responsible breeding landscape, and keeps animals from continuing to be poorly bred and taken care of.

🚩 Here are some red flags to watch for when considering a breeder:

1. Lack of Health Testing: If the breeder does not fully health test their dogs, it is a warning sign. Hips, elbows, eyes, heart, and DNA each have a test. Compared to the work of raising a litter, completing tests for adult dogs is not that difficult. Unless the breeder has 50 + dogs 😞

2. PUPPIES AVAILABLE!: A breeder should not routinely have 7-8 week old puppies for sale. If the breeder seems to always be running sales & discounts to “get rid” of their puppies, it is a warning sign - even if the photos look cute. Responsible breeders should have at least over half the litter sold and a built up waitlist BEFORE breeding. If not, skip a cycle. Responsible buying involves getting on a waitlist.

3. Limited Personality Knowledge: A breeder should be knowledgeable about their adult dog’s personality. It makes it difficult to know a dog’s personality if they live in a kennel, so if they cannot answer your questions, consider looking elsewhere. The same thing goes for your new puppy. Responsible breeders have no problem sending lots of photos and information on the puppies. If you receive 2-3 photos in the 8 weeks your puppy grows, consider elsewhere.

4. No Socialization Plan: Puppies should be socialized with 100s of new things in the first 8 weeks. If the breeder doesn’t have a thought out socialization plan on for the puppies, that's a warning sign. Simply “raised around kids” doesn’t always count! 😉

5. No Lifetime Support: A responsible breeder will offer ongoing support and advice throughout the dog's life. If they show no interest in maintaining contact once the puppy is sold, consider it a red flag.

The choice is in your hands. Let’s prioritize ethical breeding practices and set a standard that benefits our pet friends and society! 🐾❤️

Lots of love to share! 🥰🍀

The Clover pups spent the afternoon at Otsego Place. They had such a great time playing and socializing with the tenants! By the end, they were all napping in the middle of the circle🙂 It is always so fun to hear the stories of past dogs, and the love that they brought to their humans throughout the years❤️
