The time has come. . . . a message from Dr. Ouellette:

After 30 incredible years as a horse veterinarian, I would like to share the news that I am officially retiring from practice. This decision comes with a mix of emotions—gratitude, sadness, nostalgia, and excitement for the road ahead.

It has been one of the greatest privileges of my life to care for your horses and to be part of your lives. It has been an honor to help bring foals into this world, care for athletes and keep them in top shape, and tend to our geriatric friends in their final chapters of their lives. I have learned so much from my patients as well as from you, the clients. Never stop asking questions and looking for answers!

There are so many stories and equine friends (and people!) that I will never forget. You all have made a lasting impression on me. I am deeply grateful for your loyalty, friendship, and the opportunity to do the work I love for so many years.

I especially want to thank Oakhurst Equine and the Root family, Dr. Jack, Cookie, and Ben who have worked tirelessly to create a wonderful Veterinary facility and home for us all. They allowed me to come be a part of their family and I am forever grateful. I am sure my patients will be in good hands after I leave.

As I step into retirement, I’m looking forward to spending more time traveling and enjoying time with family and friends. I will miss you all. I will hopefully see you again in the future, when helping out periodically at the clinic.

Thank you again for allowing me to be part of your lives and for making this long journey so meaningful. I carry each of you—and your horses—with me into this next chapter.

Truth is in the 👀 of the beholder - Splinters may be larger than they appear!

Dr. Ouellette saw a patient last night with looked to be a simple little splinter stuck in his upper eyelid. However, once she sedated him, blocked it, and got a closer look, it was substantially larger!!

No wonder he didn't want anyone to touch it and was so unhappy, poor guy! Instantly feeling better! ❤🖤❤️🖤
