This Stabilizer is a 2001 model, but only has about 3-4 years actual USE.

I had thought to ask $1999. but upon very close inspection, there is a moderate scuff on the cantle and a few other itty bitty signs of being shuffled about in a store setting, so I think $1299. is a proper Fresh-Ride steal price ;-) NOW ON MIDNIGHT MADNESS DAKE PRICE OF $800/ best offer!
This saddle was on display in a shop in New York and has never been on a horse, though it has very light "shop wear" just from being moved saddle rack to saddle stand, etc, and sat in.
(It does have one cantle "ding" about a 1/2" long, which is why this is $1299. instead of $2499.)
This is a VERY light weight saddle, because it is a "reverse monoflap"- the sweat flap has been removed and a shield of leather left in it's place to protect your horse from the girth; this makes for an ULTRA close-contact ride! The wide fit and natural latex panels, on a tree with very short points, means this will be comfortable for most horses who take a "wide" fit CC.
Gullet is 5" dot-to-dot, also stamped "W" on the stirrup bar.
The top flap has an integrated knee block up high, under gorgeous calfskin leather. Flap is 13.5" long, 12.5" wide, with 6" of that forward of the stirrup leather groove.

A little "before and after"-
This very fine, well made Ideal saddle came in to have the flaps shortened from about 15" to 13", and to have wear leathers installed, as well as new billets, add point billets, and reflock. After I dropped the panels, I found a small repair needed to keep them balanced. It is now on it's way to serve it's rider for another 20 years! First 2 pics are "Before"........

Imagine if a Passier Comet Franke Sloothaak and a Stubben Survival had a love child....then imagine it in FULL ROUGH-OUT...
Pretty much, you would have THIS UBO CUSTOM!
**** YES, it is not a glamorous saddle to look at...I get that....but pretty IS as pretty DOES.... ****
German saddler Ulrich Brehme Osterode built just a few of these for the serious Jumper or Event rider- literally throw out those full seat breeches...you will never need them again.
Sitting in this is like being glued in; this is not flimsy garment suede- this is the backside ("doeskin") or "rough-out" of premium German leather.
This has the cut-back pommel, narrow twist, and close contact feel of the Passier PS Baum tree, with the extra bold knee and thigh blocks of the Stubben Survival. Throw in an extra point-billet on each side for keeping this saddle OFF even the most obnoxiously huge shoulder, and you have one heck of a tool to keep you SAFE and ON COURSE while your horse moves out pain-free and comfortable!

THIS my friends is WHY a custom USA-made Western saddle on a custom tree in Premium gorgeous leather is $4500-$9,999. ALL of the steps here are traditional and serve the purpose of LONGEVITY of your saddle...the more leather and steps that are omitted, the cheaper the saddle becomes....(and the more likely it will break, wear, fail, or need replacing early). Conversely, this also shows that nearly any English style custom saddle, made with 70% less leather, no tooling, no rigging, no fenders, no 40 hours of hand stitching, should only be priced at around $3500, max (in my humble opinion); anyone paying more than that is not paying for increased quality... they're paying for brand prestige)..... 😉

Finally back at the shop after a 6 day vacation 😁. I just finished Jillifying the Kieffer Hintermayer for a client and I have to say, it looks GORGEOUS!
Could be the rose-colored glasses....
