Update on the UWTM: we’re working on finding a solution! I’ve been brainstorming and here’s what I’ve come up with so far:

1. Find someone who can fix it.
2. Buy a new one.
3. Put on the best talent show this town has ever seen.

In the meantime, we’re still open for laser therapy, shockwave, massage, and therapeutic exercises.

Happy ✨Feature Friday✨

Today we’re spotlighting Lexie! This almost 16-year-old Alaskan Malamute mix has been gracing us with her presence since the summer of 2024. She weighs between 105 pounds and none of your business 💅, but she insists it’s mostly fur-weight. She began seeing us due to recurrent right forelimb lameness. Since then, she’s come to Canine Rehab once a week for laser therapy, hydrotherapy, massage, and therapeutic exercises. Her hobbies include: lying down, snacking, and serving a look. 12/10. She is a ✨very✨ good girl 💕🧸

Happy ✨Feature Friday✨

We couldn’t end the week without saying goodbye to sweet Nari 🌈💔

Nari was a 16.5-year-old Yorkshire Terrier who had been coming to Canine Rehab since 2023. She was a sweet girl who brought her own little gourmet snacks (e.g., containers of coconut water & goat’s cheese) and a smile to everyone’s faces. She had Distemper as a puppy, which left her hind limbs paralyzed. With assistance, she was able to walk on the land treadmill and complete therapeutic exercises. Her gentle spirit will be missed. ❤️🪽

Sweet Chance. 💔 Thank you for coming to see us one last time on Monday.

Chance was a longtime patient of Canine Rehab. He charmed everyone he met with his sweet personality and truly impressive appetite. What he was missing in toes, he made up for in spirit. We’ll miss his twice-weekly visits, but take comfort in the fact that he’s no longer in pain. Run free, sweet boy 🐕‍🦺🌈❤️

Happy ✨Feature Friday!✨

Today we’re spotlighting the man, the myth, the legend…Jaxson! If you’ve spent any amount of time at Canine Rehab or Gotham Vet, chances are you’ve seen (or heard) this little guy. Jaxson is a 5-year-old Dachshund who began seeing us after sustaining a spinal injury last summer. At Canine Rehab, Jaxson receives a combination of hydrotherapy, laser therapy, and therapeutic exercises. While he’s non-ambulatory in his hind legs, that doesn’t stop him from running circles around the ladies of Canine Rehab. He loves snacking, yapping, and showing off his toy crab. Say hello if you see one of us toting him around the Upper West Side 🌭🐾🦀

Happy ✨ Marley Monday ✨

Marley is a 13-year-old Shihtzu mix who started seeing us back in January. He had been recently diagnosed with IVDD and was non-ambulatory. Described as a “known indiscriminate eater,” treats played a big part in Marley’s recovery. Through a combination of laser therapy, hydrotherapy, and home exercises, Marley regained his strength and graduated from Canine Rehab of New York today! Congratulations, Marley! We’ll miss you! 🐕‍🦺🐾🦴❤️

“If you’re brave enough to say goodbye, life will reward you with a new hello.”

After almost 3 years, Olga will be leaving Canine Rehab of New York and moving back to Poland at the end of June. Olga is truly the heart and soul of this place. Her attention, knowledge, and dedication to animals (and their humans!) are the lifeblood of Canine Rehab. While we still have a few months left before she leaves (and obviously we can never replace her!), we’re hoping our network of animal lovers can help us find a physical therapist to join our practice. I’ve shared the job description below, but please feel free to reach out to me with any questions via DM, email, phone, telekinesis, etc. We remain committed to the health and happiness of your pets, and even though we’ll miss Olga immensely, we’re excited to see what the next chapter brings. ✨

✨ Surprise! We’re going through a rebrand. ✨

NYC is known as one of the rattiest cities in the US, with an estimated 3 million rats that call our streets, garbage cans, and subways home. So it only makes sense to pivot towards where we’re really needed, rodent rehabilitation. 🐀

We understand this may come as a shock, but we look forward to your continued support and are so excited to help heal the mice, squirrels, voles, and rats of New York City. And if you’ve read this far, happy April Fool’s Day.
