🦠Parasites Don’t Always Show Symptoms
Many reptiles carrying hookworms, pinworms, or other internal parasites can look perfectly healthy for weeks or even months. By the time symptoms appear, the parasite load may already be affecting their health.
This is why quarantine is so important, especially for newly acquired reptiles. Reptile expos and animal swaps are great places to find new animals, but they’re also one of the easiest ways for parasites to spread between collections.
A healthy-looking reptile isn’t always parasite-free.
