Last weekend I last minute got a dog for clipper challenge at Groom’d and boy was that a challenge!

I got to prepping late, and it was my first time meeting sweet Prissy and it was her first time in the ring. She was a baaaayyybeeeee. We had a few challenges as she didn’t like certain things done and she was ticklish but we made it work.

I think I may want to become a poodle girl idkkkk 🤔 This trim doesn’t count since I was only able to use my clippers! But I am entertaining the idea to shy away from freestyle idkkkkk.

I’m sure you have seen the new Bruvura 2 from Wahl.

Bruvura 1 has been in my career since I started grooming so you already know I adore these new clippers.

The new Diamond blade works best with the new clippers since they were built for them, I wouldn’t recommend using the blade for other 5-1.

It’s a trend again.. Yes, some dogs come in stressed, fearful or reactive it’s real.. But it’s also how we are handling it. It’s our responsibility to read the dog’s body language, be patient and focus on being save and building trust.

Before you say “I never see you post reactive dogs” Yes, I do service dogs who don’t love grooming, many who are anxious and some who used to alligator roll, thrash, scream or try to bite. But my focus isn’t on filming content it’s on helping them feel safe, respected and supported.

Many of my dogs who started out hating grooming, now they tolerate it and that’s a win for me.
