This comment is for anyone needing a reputable pet sitter but doesn't understand some of the cost that goes into a reputable or legitimate pet sitter. š°
I mean this respect and I know you want the best for your pet. But a reputable pet sitter has Pet Sitter Insurance (aprox.$375 yr), Car Insurance and payment ($900/mo average) Rent, and gas ($2.89+ a gallon) to buy, Other things that might be involved, planners, phone bill, pens, printer ink etc...
But what if they use Rover? (I dont, and dont suggest anyone else does, they dont cover you as well as you think) Rover takes 20 percent from the sitter. Plus asks 11 percent more than what the sitter asks the client for. So clients pay 31 percent more than the sitter gets. So $10- 31% = $6.90 My point is this is not cheap to do. A person can't live as a full time pet sitter at those low rates. Especially at the care your animals require. And I understand a pet sitter is expensive but taking advantage of someone at these prices if it's truly a reputable, worthy, legit pet sitter.
There is so much more going on than just letting the dog out and feeding them. We bring in mail, water plants, change litter, fix any other issues in the house that may arise, clean bowls and dishes and brush/play with the animals.
Thank you to all my clients who appreciate what I do. We love your animals more than you know.
This is not a post saying I'm raising prices but informative to say that if and when I do, there's a reason behind it. Cost of living and food goes up, so will luxury services. Yes, pet care is a luxury service.
I do try and be as fair as I can with clients and do offer discounts when I can, and I will continue to do so.
But keep in mind that it takes A LOT to do what I do and every penny, booking and review is so appreciated š
Thank you!!!!
