The ARK team was proud to attend the 52nd Animal Transportation Association - ATA Conference in Halifax, bringing together a global network of professionals dedicated to animal welfare, transportation, and logistics.

From collaborative workshops and regulatory discussions to conversations around innovation in humane animal relocation, the conference created valuable opportunities to connect and share ideas shaping the future of the industry.

The ARK was especially proud to see CEO & President Elizabeth Schuette lead discussions on Animal Ground Handling at Airports and host an open forum on Trends in Pet Shipping and the Impact on Animal Welfare. These conversations continue to be critical as our industry evolves alongside changing regulations, traveler expectations, and animal care standards.

A special thank you to everyone who made this year’s conference such a meaningful and engaging event.

Take a look at the features in our quarantine barn! We have 48 stalls in the main barn and 15 additional stalls in our flex barn.

Each flight of horses that arrives is kept separate, and our team follows strict biosecurity protocols. The barn layout allows us to accommodate different group sizes and helps support multiple arrivals throughout the week.

Kids Day at JFK! We had a great time showing kids what The ARK is all about. They met our ambassadog Leo, Clara’s dog Tinkerbell (who traveled through us from Brazil!), and Nykiesha’s parrot Sam.

Such a great turnout right by the runway!

Microchips are a key part of pet travel ✈️
They’re used to identify your pet at different checkpoints during their journey and confirm they match their travel documents. Microchips should be readable with an ISO-compliant scanner to ensure they can be scanned internationally.

Registering your pet’s microchip is a separate step that ensures your contact details are attached to your pet’s unique ID. You can register their microchip and keep your details up to date in a database like Petkey Pets.

This week, Jaclyn and Alyssa from The ARK at JFK joined the JFK Airport Rotary Club's 47th Annual Children’s Holiday Party—a beloved tradition that brings joy to hundreds of special needs children from local Queens schools.
Serving as Santa’s helpers, they helped celebrate a day filled with laughter, gifts, and holiday spirit alongside volunteers from across the JFK Airport community.

We’re proud to support the JFK Rotary Club’s mission of Service Above Self and grateful to be part of an airport community that comes together to make the season brighter for so many.
