When Juliette and I first hopped on a call to discuss her & Eric’s wedding, we ended up chatting for over 2 hours - which is crazy (but also amazing)! We talked about their love story, their personalities, our shared love of the color purple & gemstones (amethysts), how we’re both crazy Aquarians, and so much more. It was an instant connection and I was so excited to see all their vision come together for the big day and I was not disappointed! Their vibrant vintage boho vibes stunned me and their guests, while expressing how unique and special they are as people. 💜

Today’s hot take is about wedding inquiry red flags. There are a lot of reasons I’ll turn down a potential couple, and I talk about a couple of them here. Mainly - respectfully - can y’all at least pretend to be excited about your wedding?! If the vibe you give off is “we just want to throw this together and get it over with” I am not the photographer for you. I like to work with couples that understand the importance of wedding photography - to capture their most important memories with the people they love. And this isn’t about money because I offer hourly and small event packages to suite every budget. This is about vibes and respect for your own day ✌🏼

There are soooo many reasons for why I love a first look. And if you get me on my soapbox I’ll go on and on about it. But for now I’ll just put one right here - getting to see each other for the first time on your wedding day without the 100+ sets of eyeballs of your guests watching you - allows you to be your truest most vulnerable selves and be fully present in the moment. You get to feel the nerves and excitement, cry + laugh + be yourselves. Which is what your wedding day should be all about!

One of the biggest joys of my life? Getting couples who tell me they don’t like photos of themselves or that they’re awkward or goofy to have an absolute blast while we’re photographing their wedding, and ending up with gorgeous shots like this one. The goal is to have the best day ever and be in the moment, the photos just end up reflecting that energy 💙
