Elle, 8 years old, and Angel, 11 years old, of and . Today we are posting this mother/daughter duo in celebration of Mother’s Day and Dog Mom’s Day! Angel describes herself as “Not a regular mom - I’m a cool mom” 😎(we feel similarly, tbh 🤣.)

🌈 Dr. Watson, 13(ish) years old. We are dedicating Wirehair Wednesday in honor of our dear friend Dr. Watson who recently crossed the 🌈 Bridge. 💔 While his first few years of life remain a mystery, in 2016 he ended up in the where he was pulled from the shelter by and then adopted by his loving (and newly engaged) parents. After setting into his new home, he quickly established himself as the center of his parents’ universe. 🌌 And in what is inarguably one of the most blatant examples of nepotism since Sofia Coppola in “Godfather 3”, he was cast as the star of his actor/director mom’s short film “Will You Take This Dog?” 🎥 He charmed everyone wherever he went and even faced health problems in recent years with tenacity and courage. He was also an IVDD warrior and made numerous medical miracle comebacks after being diagnosed with heart failure and chronic nerve pain. Dr. Watson was deeply loved and will be forever missed. We send so much love to Shari and Craig who are missing this small dog with a big personality - please keep them in your heart! Fly high, Dr. Watson. 🌈🌈❤️❤️

🎉🎉Cookie, 16 years old TODAY! Happy Birthday to our sweet little Cookie Bear! 🎂🎂We adopted Cookie 8 years ago so she has now officially been with us for half of her life! She is a very independent girl who prefers her own company or the company of humans over that of other dogs - in fact she’s one of the most anti-dog dogs we’ve ever met! 🤣 She’s stoically endured 40+ foster dogs over the years and we’ve decided to take a little break from fostering to ensure Cookie’s comfort in her Golden Years. While her health is generally good for a dog her age, her eyesight has deteriorated significantly and she startles easily! She also started showing signs of dementia last year but CBD oil has really been a game changer in helping reduce her “sundowning” (anxiously pacing during the night) and generally keeping her more comfortable. She is our sweet old lady pup and we’re so lucky to have her in our lives. We love you so much, Cookie!
Tomorrow is the Dachshund Spring Fiesta in Washington Square Park at 12noon and we are planning to do a little celebration for Cookie in the park immediately following the festival if anyone would like to stop by and wish our girl HBD! The forecast tomorrow doesn’t look great ☔️- but this is a rain or shine event so it will be happening unless there are monsoon-like conditions!
