🎃👻 Halloween fun is just around the corner, but let's keep our rehab pups safe and comfortable! 🐾 Here are a few tips to protect your pets during spooky season, especially for those recovering or in therapy:

1️⃣ Skip the treats - candy can upset your pup's tummy, especially those on a special diet or post-surgery. Stick to healthy, rehab-friendly snacks 🍬🚫

2️⃣ Costume comfort - if your pup wears a costume, make sure it doesn't restrict movement or interfere with their therapy progress. Comfort and mobility come first! 🎽🐕

3️⃣ Decorations & Safety - keep decorations like cords and candles out of reach. Pets with mobility challenges may be more prone to accidents around these hazards 🔥⚡️

4️⃣ Quiet spaces - loud noises and visitors can stress pets out, especially those in recovery. Set up a quiet space where they can rest and feel secure 🏡💤

Great acts are made up of small deeds. Rehabilitation is most effective with short, intense sessions performed weekly for 1-2 months (sometimes longer). A typical treatment plan at W4D lasts 30 to 60 minutes, once a week, for 5 to 10 sessions. Some patients continue with maintenance sessions for years

Since 2008 W4D has been passionate about rehabilitation and a positive experience for both patient and owner. Each patient is examined by our DVM who is also a CCRP. The treatment plan is made specific for each patient based on medical diagnoses, body condition, age and temperament. Our treatment offerings include hydrotherapy (both UWTM and pool), laser therapy (class IV), ultrasound, estim, PEMF, therapeutic exercise, massage and stretching.

Everyone is working hard this week in the underwater treadmill. Mikey, Albee, Lancelot and Nemo all benefit from a low impact, muscle building exercise. When they exercise their nervous system release endorphins (the happy hormone)😃 There are so many benefits of this therapeutic exercise.
