Today was his very first day home.
Not just a house, but HIS home. The place where he can grow, fall asleep without fear, play without limits, love unconditionally—and be loved in return.
This morning, he was trembling a little. Between the unknown, the new faces, the sounds he didn't recognize... he didn't even dare lay his head down. You could tell he didn't yet understand that it was over. No more cages, no more echoing barks, no more sad looks that said "not today."
But little by little, he began to let go. A caress, a gentle voice, a bowl of kibble served with love... and above all, a soft little basket just for him. A space of his own, for the first time.
And then, gently, he closed his eyes.
His first nap here. And I think that's when I understood: he finally felt safe.
Look at him. This little heart, still so young, who has already known loneliness, is now sleeping soundly, his nose resting on a warm blanket. He clutches his little toy as if it had always been there. As if he knows he'll never have to fight for a quiet corner again.
It's amazing how such a simple moment—a sleeping puppy—can break you and mend you all at the same time.
Today, he doesn't know it yet, but he has just started a new life.
And I have just discovered what it feels like to see love fall asleep at your feet. 🥹🙏❤️
