I was walking on that harsh morning when I noticed a still body lying on the snow.
I approached with fear and found a pregnant dog, her breathing weak, her belly swollen, clinging to the ground because she had no strength left to run.
I knelt beside her, placed my hand on her head, and felt the cold that broke my heart.
In her eyes was silent fear… and behind it, a small plea saying: Don’t leave me here.
I wrapped her in my coat and carried her to the car with difficulty. The entire drive, I spoke to her, promising that everything would be okay and that her babies would see the light.
She whimpered softly, but her tail moved just a little, as if she understood that the journey was over and safety was near.
At the clinic, the vet told me she had been close to death, and that timing saved her life and the lives inside her.
Days later, in a warm place, she gave birth peacefully. I was there, watching the miracle of life unfold before me, my tears arriving before my smile.
Today, I see her lying calmly, nursing her puppies, her eyes finally resting in peace. The dog I found on the snow is no longer a story of sorrow… but living proof that compassion can change destiny...❤️🐾🐾
