Finally a call name is decided for this baby! Meet ๐ฃ๐ผ๐๐, our blue lynx point bicolor keeper girl. ๐ซถ๐ผ
We were joking about calling her โRagdoll Shorhairโ due to her awkward teenager look with a lack of ruff. Posy is currently 5 months old, and this is the phrase when Ragdoll kittens lose their kitten coat while growing their adult coat. Ragdoll standard calls for minimal undercoat with an abundance of guard hair, resulting in the authentic silky, non-matting coat thatโs cold to the touch and unique to the Ragdoll breed. Ragdolls are never meant to be fluffy - in fact, the extra volume of fluff is created by softer, wooly undercoat that is prone to matting, which is not the ideal trait of Ragdolls.
Remember, Ragdoll is a slow maturing breed where it can take up to 4 years to reach maturity. Give it time and trust the lines - their body will fill out, structure will balance out, and color will develop. Patience is key - enjoy the journey as they blossom into beautiful Ragdoll adults. ๐ธ๐บ๐
