"Client came to the MACC with an appointment to surrender Panda and Simba on behalf of their friend who had to leave the country and they are unsure when they will be home. Unfortunately the owner has no other option at this time but to have his friend surrender."

*** A volunteer writes:
Panda is a big bear of a cat who fills his whole den with seventeen pounds of silverish awesomeness. His eyes are two green golden lights looking so surprised as I lift the door to his hide out. Hi Panda, I want to be your friend....Panda is a bit taken aback at first but unhurriedly sinks onto his den's floor, leans into pets, purrs and very slowly opens and closes his magnificent eyes as I speak to him. Panda appears very shy and calm but I sense that a lot of wonderful traits are just waiting to express themselves when he feels safer in the shelter environment. He is really a gorgeous kitty and I love to caress his thick and silky coat. Panda, a ten year old senior, came with his friend Simba as his family moved to a far away country, unable to take their pets with them. We are hoping that Panda's beauty and goodness will turn your head, warm up your heart and give him a loving place in your home. Come and meet him very soon at the Manhattan Care Center. ***

BEHAVIOR:
What my friends at ACC say about me:
* I am finding the shelter a little overwhelming, but when it's just you and me and some peace and quiet you'll see what a love bug I am.
* I am looking for a home with a patient person.
* I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace.
* I was dumped with my best bud Simba (217326), and we would love to find our furever home together.

We will immediately alert the rescue of your incoming app. If you live locally to NYC and want to adopt directly from the shelter please continue to read below.

ABOUT TRANSPORT: In some cases, when rescue has approved adopter there may be FREE TRANSPORT up to a 4 horr. radius outside of NYC, including all or parts of NY, NJ, CT, PA, NH, VT, RI, MA, MD, DE & DC (see the transport map provided). More distant adopters can meet the transport van, (i.e. a NC or VA adopter could meet in MD or DC, or an OH adopter could meet in PA).
ABOUT KITTENS: Kittens under 8 wks old & under 2 lbs, due to fragility are NOT PUBLICLY ADOPTABLE. They can only be pulled by a rescue group for specially-trained, pre-approved kitten foster homes in NY, NJ & CT.
ABOUT PLEDGES: Pledges are paid directly to the 501(c)3 RESCUE that pulls the cat. The Rescue Donation link (if known) will be posted for pledges to be honored. Pledges do not guarantee that a cat's life will be saved but it may help a rescue decide if they can pull the cat and cover his/her medical needs, vetting expenses.
ABOUT US : MLC is a 100% volunteer run page. We can help facilitate a rescue, by connecting you with a 501c3 RESCUE. Must Love Cats is NOT a rescue, nor are we affiliated with any of the NYC ACC shelters.
