Hi dog moms and dads, I want to introduce to you Niki! She will be helping in the Slickville, New Alex, Delmont, Murrysville area!

Hey y’all! My name is Niki Shetler.
I am so happy to be a part of Gina’s team here at Alpha Omega Pet Services.
My passion in life is animals, I was born and raised in a barn haha
I was involved with 4H my whole childhood, I rode a horse before I could walk. I also showed the Paint Horse Circuit. We raised and I also showed Blue Tick Coonhounds up at our family horse farm in Hannastown. It’s not uncommon to see me rescuing a random bee or bug from a spider web, legit I use toothpicks to help remove the web from the insect. It’s not above me to pick up a lost and or stray along the side of the road. I just can not look the other way when someone or something is in need.
I started my career as a veterinary technician with Dr’s Beam and Lint at Beam Animal Hospital/ Lint Veterinary Services in 2007. Since then, I have went back to college, obtained my degree and passed the VTNE in 2016.
I have since worked at PVSEC North as well as for The University of Pittsburgh, at the McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine, Center for PreClinical Studies, as a Critical Care Technician in their ICU.
Helping things in need, brings me immense joy in life.
I am so proud to be a part of Gina’s team here at Alpha Omega and look forward to hearing from y’all and seeing what we can do to help you and your family.

This past month (by the goodness of God) was my very best month ever in 6.5 years of business! I’m truly humbled and very thankful for the team of people I have who have helped me accomplish this.
My service works like rover where I have the leads come to me and I hand it out by territory to staff; however my mission is to be much better than rover because I know who I’m sending. I value my team! This month I was able to provide some really nice shirts to my team and pay their way through a workshop on how to defend yourself by off leash dog attacks and break up a dog fight. When you hire my company you are hiring a team of people who are continuing to learn and grow as professionals in the business. Not (and no offense) someone who is just doing it for extra cash. This job is their life, and they love to do it each day. And they are continuing to learn. As i continue to train and thoroughly vet everyone who works for me my promise to you is the best care and best people providing this much needed service.

Allow me to elaborate, we had a client reach out and need some pop in visits this coming weekend. And as always for new clients we do a “trial” run. This is just to make sure the dogs are happy with us coming in the home and none of the dogs are surprised. During our trial run today we found one dog to be a bit overly excited and jumpy. He’s a big dog, and even though my walker was more than happy to take care of him this weekend we mutually decided to refer to Pawsitive Vibes to make sure EVERYONE is safe. And working together we found the perfect fit for her dogs!

This isn’t about not being capable of doing the work, but we were on a time crunch and didn’t have enough time to do a few more meet n greets to make sure the dogs were bonded to my walker. And this isn’t about being so greedy to get “all the clients.” In fact part of being a good business is having a good network. It’s not about not being capable but rather just finding someone who is the perfect fit!

I hope this encourages other businesses to work together, instead of feeling threatened by other people who do the same thing as you do! We can all do the same thing we just have areas where we excel differently making it beneficial to have a network.

I try not to vent on Facebook. But recently I was fired by a client and told I’m not organized and she’d never seen anything like it. She told me I need to get more organized and because I have kids I should have a better handle on things. I want to just thank my village of clients who hire me and use me. Those of you who understand I’m a mom with a lot on my plate and work with me through some bumps. I need forgiveness too sometimes. I need grace sometimes, I miss things sometimes. If you have any good reviews for me please leave them for me 🫶🏼. I feel as though my one bad experiences I created for a client will hurt the overall quality of my reviews and the fact I wasn’t given much grace for a few bumps we had to iron out. I appreciate you all.
