We are excited to introduce you to our newest member of the Annapolis Fire Department , K9 Bear! He is part of our Fire and Explosives Services Unit.

Investigator/Bomb Technician Matthew Montgomery recently returned from training with his partner, Bear. He is a 1-year-old and 10-month-old Belgian Malinois and trained in explosive detection. Investigator Montgomery and K-9 Bear completed extensive training with Southern Coast K9 in New Smyrna Beach, Florida.

Thank you to the Chesapeake K-9 Fund for their generous support that helps purchase these specialty canines, as well as essential equipment and services. The Chesapeake K-9 Fund is a nonprofit organization based in Annapolis, Maryland, dedicated to supporting and assisting K-9 units in the local community.

K9 Bear is looking forward to keeping The City Of Annapolis and the surrounding jurisdictions safe!

As many of you already know, Southern Coast K9 has a decades-long history of serving our customers with the highest quality canines and training possible. 💪 Our employees, trainers, and the ongoing support of our customers have made us who we are today 🙏🏻.
