It’s the middle of the day, it’s scorching out, but your dog needs to go out. What do you do?
Real talk: that midday walk can wait.
We met a limping dog out for a walk and stopped to check on him. He had blistered paw pads and his owner didn’t know.
It happens fast.
→ Walk early or late. Asphalt holds heat long after sunset.
→ Route through grass and shade. Pavement is the enemy.
→ On brutal days, water play gets the energy out without the risk.
→ If you think they got burned: cool (not cold) water soak for 5–10 minutes, or a wet washcloth if they’re fussy.
→ We’ve used Pawtection + Paw Soother by Natural Dog Company on our own animals for years. Before walks as a barrier, after to help them recover. Clean ingredients, and they actually work.
