Today we say goodbye to a truly special soul who was part of our clinic family for so many years.

Wakiya, Dr. Sarah’s beloved companion, came to work faithfully every single day—greeting patients and clients with gentle eyes, a calm presence, and a heart full of love. So many of you knew him not just as our clinic dog, but as a source of comfort, a quiet friend, and truly the best boy.

He had a beautiful way of making even the hardest days feel a little lighter—offering reassurance without words and love without limits. His paw prints are forever woven into the heart of this clinic and into the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Wakiya was deeply loved, and he loved just as deeply in return. He will be missed beyond measure, but never forgotten.

Run free, sweet boy. 💛

Rosco stopped by for his Cytopoint injection and is feeling relief already 🐾💙

With allergy season in full swing, many dogs start to experience itchy skin, redness, and constant scratching. Cytopoint is a safe, targeted treatment that helps block the itch at its source—giving pups like Rosco fast, long-lasting relief.

If your dog is licking, scratching, or uncomfortable this time of year, we’re here to help them feel their best again. Just like Rosco! 🐶✨

Double the cuteness 💕🐾

Sweet sisters Meeka & Iris came in for their spay procedures and were absolute rockstars. They handled everything so well and are healing up beautifully!

Why spaying matters:
Spaying helps greatly reduce the risk of serious health conditions like pyometra (uterine infection) and mammary cancer. It can also reduce certain hormone-related behaviors, helping your pup live a longer, healthier life.

Way to go, Meeka and Iris — we’re so proud of these brave girls! 💗✨

Luke the Alaskan malamute presented for a well check and vaccines. Yearly wellness exams are key to keeping your pet healthy. 🐾

Because pets age faster than we do, annual checkups help us catch early signs of illness, keep vaccines up to date, and ensure everything is on track. Many health issues show no obvious symptoms, and early detection can make all the difference.

Preventive care helps your pet live a longer, happier life by your side. 🐶🐱

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dr. Wayne Wiekhorst after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Dr. Wiekhorst was the founder and owner of Foothills Veterinary Service and quickly became one of the most trusted and beloved veterinarians in our community.

After more than 40 years of devoted service, Dr. Wiekhorst retired, and the practice later became New River Veterinary. We were truly honored to continue caring for him as a valued client and friend of our practice.

Dr. Wiekhorst was a kind, compassionate, and gentle soul whose dedication to helping animals and supporting their families touched countless lives. His legacy of care, empathy, and commitment to this community will live on for many years to come. He will be deeply missed and always remembered with gratitude and respect.
