A message from our founder, Diane Buhl:
After many years in rescue, one thing has never changed: dogs need people willing to open their hearts and homes.

Today, we are caring for so many deserving dogs-young and old, playful and gentle, each one waiting for the chance to be loved. While we work tirelessly to help as many as we can, the reality is that we can't do it alone.

Every adoption changes a life. In fact, it changes two-the dog who finds a home and the dog who can take their place in rescue.

If adoption isn't possible right now, sharing our posts, telling a friend, or helping spread the word can have an incredible impact.

We believe there is a family out there for every dog. Our promise is to help make those connections and support both dogs and adopters along the way.

Really? Really.

Sapphire and Klaus are two wonderful dogs who have successfully co-existed with cats and have been great with children, too. They're proof that sometimes the perfect family dog comes with a few delightful surprises.

A little faith can change everything.

Many of the dogs in our care arrived feeling scared, unsure, and hesitant to trust. Then they met Faith-one of our incredible volunteers whose kindness, patience, and dedication help dogs discover that people can be safe and loving.

Thanks to Faith, these dogs are beginning to come out of their shells. They're learning to trust, to hope, and to enjoy the simple joys of companionship. Pictured is Cedar.

Now all they need is a place to call home.

Dogs are incredible teachers and healers. They show us resilience when life is hard, forgiveness when it's undeserved, and love without conditions.

Sometimes, it's the quiet, sensitive dogs who leave the biggest mark on our hearts. They remind us to slow down, be patient, and find hope in the smallest moments.

These two beautiful souls recently returned from our prison training program, where they worked hard, learned new skills, and continued to grow in confidence.

They did everything that was asked of them.
Now it's our turn.

Our girl Meesha has just returned from our prison training program and is ready to find the forever home she deserves.

This sweet, affectionate girl has wonderful house manners and a gentle spirit that shines through in everything she does. During her time in the program, she learned basic commands and showed everyone her playful side, but at her core, Meesha is a sensitive soul who simply wants a peaceful place to belong.
She would thrive in a quiet, loving home where she can feel safe, cherished, and understood.
Sometimes the sweetest, most sensitive dogs are the ones who wait the longest. Meesha has waited patiently for someone to see just how special she is.

One of the greatest joys in rescue is watching a dog leave for their forever home. It's the moment that makes all the hard work worthwhile.

Right now, we have several adoption appointment openings this weekend, and I would love the opportunity to introduce you to some truly special dogs. Each one is waiting for someone to see what we already know-that they're deserving of love, security, and a family of their own.

If you've been considering adoption, this could be the perfect time. And if you're not ready to adopt, sharing our dogs with friends and family helps more than you can imagine.

What a sweet pupdate on Remi! Here's his pawrent's report:

We adopted Remi (AKA Nike) five weeks ago after he was returned to Char-Wills following a prior adoption that didn't work out.

We were told he is shy around strangers and might be reactive to cats. Both were true.

But he is so eager to please that both issues are already well managed. When he sees one of our two cats he freezes, sits, and remains quiet. One cat already learned that she is safe and they nearly touched noses today.

Remi is a big goof ball who wants to do nothing but please us … and chase a tennis ball.

He also loves jumping in the creek, which we think he never did before because he approached the creek so cautiously at first. Now he quite literally jumps for joy in and out of the creek.

He is a good boy and a big part of our family already.

We are so very grateful to Char-Wills and the entire program - from rescue, to jail, to placement. They are a 5-Star organization. ❤️

Great pupdate for Sunka, now named Bouy! He's doing fantastic! Here's his pawrent’s report:

Hi, I just wanted to share with you that we did end up adopting Sunka now Buoy!

This is him 5 minutes after his first rehab visit yesterday 😴 he managed to survive 1 inch of water in the underwater treadmill and hopefully he will manage a little deeper at his next visit 🙂 The pool is also a bit scary so we may need to rename him to something less aquatic if he doesn’t figure it out soon.😂

Thanks for all your help!! He is a lot of fun. He loves to carry a toy in his mouth on walks and he has quickly become well known around the neighborhood for this. We went out without a toy last week and two ladies stopped us to ask why he didn’t have one! Luckily we were on our way to get a new one.

What a beautiful girl! Sundance is nowknown as Aspen. She's learning what is like to have a family that loves her. There are even children in the area to meet. Here's her pawrent's report:

Hello! She is doing really well, I’ve changed her name to Aspen. It’s been a little over a month since I got her and I think she is settling in nicely. We started working with a trainer last week and plan to continue to over the next few weeks. I swear she grows over night!! LOL! I’ve had her out and have been socializing her basically from when I first got her! She loves people in general and is really good & gentle with kids. Yesterday we played with a friend’s two golden retrievers! She was a bit timid at first but warmed up right away and they were all playing together within 15 minutes or so. Planning on socializing with some other friend’s dogs soon too! We live in a neighborhood where there’s lots of people, dogs & kids so we see them all on our walks. She really is a sweet girl and I’m glad I have a buddy I can take with me places.

🚨Cute puppy alert!🚨 Cute pupdate on Butch, nowknown as Kona. Here's his pawrent’s report:

Hi! Butch, now Kona, is doing awesome! He's gaining some weight (10lbs) which he definitely needed. He had some gastro issues so he did a course of deworming meds. He'll get retested next week. Getting along with his new sister fine. He started training last Friday and did great. He goes every Friday for a full day for the next 7 weeks + a group lesson after each day. Remedial classes as necessary. He's made a lot of new friends and is becoming a neighborhood celebrity 😂 We also did a DNA test and confirmed he is 100% GSD! ❤️🐕‍🦺 He's loving life at the beach!😂
